I'll be curious to see what happens to free agents on teams that are waiting on Tavares. Like Riley Nash and Boston. They obviously can't commit to him until finding about Tavares but would another team jump in quickly and strike while Boston is in holding pattern?

Toronto is not gaining momentum on Tavares. They either already had momentum or they didn't. They aren't changing his mind with a dog and pony show or a video, or 1 year max contract deal.

Sounds like LA was in on patches but it was only an extension that was holding the trade back. Considering I think he get 6-7 million in an extension, I don’t think it’s that far fetched that they would be in on kessel. Leafs still retain salary so it’s probably in the range of what they would’ve been paying patches. |
