Hallander Will be a fixture in 2 years max

I’d honestly rather see Sheary traded and ZAR take the 4th line spot. Not sure how much Sheary is valued now, but throwing him on the 4th line would just make his value go down. And if the team signs green (in assuming 3 years at least) I’d be ok if they traded maatta for whatever they can get.

I'm still pretty bullish on trading Sheary, even if he is in a 3rd or 4th line role.

A Kunitz-Sheahan-Sheary 4th line would be pretty awesome IMO.

This will have an impact in maybe 3 years, more like 5. Who is going to deal with Tom Wilson next season? Love to draft the nastiest most hated winger coming out of juniors who is hungry to make a name In The nhl. Not a vanilla “ puck moving defensemen.”

Kunitz-Sheehan-Reaves. With Engo on defense. Maybe we could play with teams we can’t out skate and outs ore then.

The scouting report in Addison talks a lot about speed, mobility, and aggressiveness. But looking at the actual highlights, he reminds me more of Pouliot. Smooth skater but I don't see the explosiveness the scouts speak of. Of course I don't scout WHL talent and I still like the pick...just an observation of the paralell to when we drafted Pouliot.

Edit: @ Barnaby..I didn't even see you mention Pouliot earlier haha.

I wonder if the Pens try to trade back. Maybe it's a rare circumstance with another team wanting to move up....but conceptually, most of these picks are just a lottery ticket and without having a first...I think it'd be wise to trade down and get more picks.

Not be the push around of the league. Ovi fights off engo to get a poor shot off in the finals. NBC, ”ovi does a beautiful job to get a shot off”. No Engo Duda great job making Ovi take a low percentage poopty shot. Fancy stats don’t show that.

We see how well having all those physical players worked out for Vegas.

Out of 31 teams they did better than 30, Only reason caps did better is they invested in players like smith pelley and tom Wilson when fancy stat brain dead gms and coaches wouldn’t have.

I'm pretty excited about this Hallander kid. That set of highlights Boyd posted was impressive.

There is not going to be enough cap space for Kunitz and he shouldn’t be blocking the opportunities of younger players.

What's your take?

I was gone away all weekend and mostly out of touch with what went on this weekend in the NHL... Im only now seeing the Pens picks and all of the trades (knew about some via friends texting) . Just skimming through the blogs comments the last few days most everyone seems pleased with the drafting this year.

Yohe with an article about pens interest in Skinner. So we've been linked to Skinner and Jack Johnson.

Hmm if we end up with any cap space I'd hope for de haan or Grabner. Will Grabner get $5M?

I have been seeing us still linked to Skinner and I think JR wants to upgrade the 2nd line LW spot and of course our bottom d pairing. I would rather take a shot at Nash tbh instead of trading assets for Skinner. I wouldn't mind a trade for Faulk though. I also am hoping more than anything for Grabner to come to Pittsburgh since he is always a thorn in our side. I also wouldn't mind JJ on a 1 year lower prove it deal. I also wouldn't mind Andrej Sustr or John Moore as an add on D. Sustr and Big rig together would add up to the tallest D line in hockey and I would think they would probably do well together.
