I really liked this draft for us. I would’ve been happy with any of Bouchard, Dobson, Wahlstrom but I’m glad we got who we did. Round 2 Mcleod another solid pick. Becomes the best center prospect in the system. Rodrigue? I actually don’t mind this pick at all. He’ll definitely get extra attention with his dad being a goalie coach and being in our organization. That’s not a bad thing. Best NA goalie prospect in the draft too. Sounds fine to me. 6th and 7th rounders. Decent size. Whatever they’re late picks.

Still need a significant addition. The team as is aint good enough. Much like 2016-17, pretty much everything needs to go right to be in contention for the playoffs.

We lose one of leon, nuge or god forbid Connor for any extended period and we’re done. And talbot needs to stand on his head again.

I don’t agree with the Rodrigues skepticism because his dad works for the oilers. He was the best goalie available at that time. Lots of ppl saying he’s a favourite for the WJC in 2020. NYI wanted him so the oilers moved up and that makes sense, quality over quantity

Bouchard could be another griffin rienhart, I watch junior and fast forwards blow by him, he is good on the pp in junior, 5 on 5 not so much.

Skating is not an easy problem to solve.

However I think Bouchard’s problem is more about playing 35-40 minutes a night and not about being slow. Give him 20-25 minutes a night with good team mates and I don’t think it’s as big of an issue.

was kind of my point. Obviously if your a lucic type skater your fuqed but hes not a bad skater hes just not an elite skater and that can definitely be improved on.

Slightly, yes. He’s going to be good, that’s for sure. Needs another year in junior, though.

I'm not claiming to know the Oilers but to draft a Center in round 2 when you already have McD, Leon and RNH at center seems like a long shot for this guy to be anything more then a 3/4 Center down the road ,Myself I would have gone goalie in second in the 2nd round with wing or D in 3rd round .
