For a player who hasn't played in the league since 2013 and is 35 (and already has grey hair) this is a tremendous risk - not so much the money but rather the length of the contract. I kind of wish that one of the Pens' Metro Division rivals were this nuts but as long as the Pens were not the ones to make this deal I will take it. |

Marleau was likely the comparable... Marleau however has never left the NHL, so everyone knew what he was capable of. And brought leadership for the Leafs kids, Kovy not likely much of a leader.

Kings are in desperation mode for scoring and didn't want to part ways with Gabe Vilardi via trade. Blake was able to get rid of Gaborik's albatross contract last season. |

Like it. Kings are a defensive wall. They desperately need more scoring. If Kovy toadds 30 more goals a season, Kings are a strong playoff team.
Did not give up any of their young players, to give Kopitar an actual scoring winner is huge
