Canadiens Take Jesperi Kotkaniemi
Did they reach too far just to get a center?

This is a need for Montreal. Despite how urgently they need to get a C, they arent going to cut corners. |

Hayton to Arizona at five. Maybe there reasons centers get picked higher. One more thing. What's with Jim Bennings hair? Easy on the dye fella |

He's got less flash than some of the other potential picks like Zadina. But he's moved in the projected standings a large degree due to his strong play.
He also likely wont be playing in the NHL next season, so that's why some people chirping are saying itl be another top 5 pick.
So really, nothing wrong with this move. |

Based on Coyotes pick, if Habs didn’t pick him, Yotes would have.
Good call by Bergevin IMO |

Yeah looks like it had to play out this way. Bit of a gamble but I've heard him compared to Kopitar so if he pans out it's a good pick. |

I love the fans of other teams.
Pacioretty isn't worth poop he is only a perrenial 30 goal scorer. He can't get a center.
LOL you guys drafted a center instead of a winger with 30 goal potential

Nothing, look how far Arizona reached for B Hayton.
If Kotkaniemi was available at #5 for Arizona he would be a Coyote. They picked based on positional need but its a big need and the best C available.
Can't be too upset about that. |

Wouldn't have made it past #5 as Arizona also wanted a Center |
