Does Pittsburgh really have $9 million to give this guy? I really doubt that… |

Oh yeah . . . like Columbus is going to trade him to the Pens - who they have to butt heads with every year.
Nope. |

It would take Letang and Guentzel |

Keep Kessel one more season then trade him. Hags off the books and boom Nearly 11 mil in cap space for Breadman as an UFA.
A player like that will extend the window.
Hopefully fix the Sheary and Hunwick mistakes too. |

Do you really
Need to look at charts To know he is an elite player ? |

while i would love panarin in Pgh, if he just plays out his contract, it would cost the pens zero assets if they wait a yr. I thought panarin didnt say no to columbus overall, but no right now. he is 26. i cant fault him for wanting to see what the market is for him. |

i know y'all have been spoiled but you cant have every elite player in the league haha
also doesn't really help the biggest issue which is defense. I don't think goal scoring is really an issue right now |

Dan Rosen:
The salary cap for the 2018-19 season is expected to be between $79.5-80 million, according to NHL commissioner Gary Bettman. Should have an official number within the next day. |

If Wild are actually looking to shake things up .... and the Pens decide to move Phil ... would a deal like Zucker, 2018 1st, & prospect/pick work? I obviously don't want to move Phil but with each day that goes by the more I think it is going to happen. |

I would imagine it's be Zucker + 1st/prospect.
I'd love to get Greenway if we were grabbing a prospect.
Edit: still would prefer brodin + coyle |

A quote from Arizona GM Chayka on the latest Kessel information:
“I’d like to know more about it, too. I think it’s terrible reporting,” Chayka said. “It’s inaccurate across the board from start to finish. I don’t know where some things come up. I’m the one having trade discussions, those discussions with the Penguins haven’t occurred. Unless someone else is making calls that I don’t know about, I’m not sure where his information’s coming from.” |

DON'T TRADE PHIL! - Rinosaur
It's going to happen unfortunately. They're clearly shopping him. |

If Kessel isn't involved would you it be something involving Sprong maybe? |

Why? As an outsider that seems crazy to me. |

Wow, Mackey wrote an article saying dont be surprised if the Pens find a way to sign Jack Johnson.
Boy unless that is a 1 yr prove it deal, I dont see how this could help the Pens. |

Exactly... What's his asking price? I know he had a rough year, but I still think he'll ask for more than what we can afford. Hope it was just a rumor. |

TSN was saying $6M ....lmao. dude was a healthy scratch in the playoffs.
I'd say the Hunwick contract would be about max for me ...especially because he's left handed. |
