One of the most intriguing prospects to me. I'd pass out if he fell to us at 50, maybe Hexy trades up if he falls too far. I like him, but obviously tough to gauge how good he actually is.

Also like how you referenced Mittelstadt as strong...Never forget that picture

He was also already carrying 200+ pounds on his frame and his arms didn't look puny; whether he managed any pullups or not. Certainly didn't hurt him this past season! Looks like the real deal as a future NHL impact player.

That Foppa return is more and more ridiculous for what he gave Nashville.

To carry on the Skinner discussion from the last blog, if the Flyers want a 30 goal LW surely it would make more sense to just go after JVR in free agency? He will want top dollar, but so will Skinner when his current deal is up.

The Forsberg trade is among the best trades I've ever seen as a Flyers fan. To me, it's third to both the Recchi deals that saw Recchi shipped out and brought back in. We robbed Montreal twice!

JVR or Skinner would be 2LW on the 18-19 Flyers.

I agree. I can't believe I was reading he was a third line player where we left off.

I'm not against G going back to center but he definitely looked at home at wing.

I like Skinner but not sure I want to pay up for him. And i don't think I want a reunion with JVR.

Not saying they are bad players, just think I prefer other players to them if I make a deal/

Martin Kaut is good to go.

- Czech forward Martin Kaut, No. 16 on the TSN list, was flagged at the NHL Combine medical screening for a congenital heart condition. He wasn’t able to do any physical testing and coming out of the combine there were fears being expressed by some teams about his status.

Fear not, he now has a clean bill of health, which has been submitted to NHL Central Scouting and the 31 teams. Last week in Prague, Kaut underwent an ablation procedure to correct the issue, although after doing the procedure, the specialists maintained they don’t believe he actually had the condition that was initially diagnosed.

In any case, doctors have signed off on full medical clearance and unrestricted activity for Kaut and this isn’t expected to affect his draft status.

I know his best days are behind him but would anyone have interest in Toews at 50% retained? He wouldn't have to be the guy here and he can still be a solid center and PK guy.

Just curious. I know Chicago wants to clear space but would this even be doable?

I really believe the rumors this time, I think he lands in Montreal.

I don't think Chicago will do that because of the poopstorm that would result, but Toews at $5.25m would be interesting.

He’ll go to Montreal with one of their second rounders. They just love them American boys

I was just curious. I could see Montreal with them needing a center so bad. But was just curious since Chicago needs to clear space and I don't see Seabrook really going anywhere.

Flyers should go after Shea Weber because he's him.

He was playing very good hockey before he went down with the injury last year. There’d need to be salary retention at about 1.5 mil before I’d think about it

If the Flyers were cup contenders, sure. But they have an influx of depth at center, and that isn't even toying with an idea of moving G back.

Like Toews a lot, just wrong time.

Give me JVR over Skinner and give me Anisimov over Toews.

EDIT: I don’t think Anisimov is better. I just knows he’s cheaper to get and cheaper cap.
