FYI: There should be a coach announcement before the draft takes place. I do think the Isles get their coach before the draft.

Other notes:

Unlike where with Garth Snow there was a "shared process" that allowed some items to trickle out a bit... With Lou, there won't be. This is why Staple has complained about a "Cone of Silence". Lou doesn't share that process at all right now.

Isles internally DO not know if Matt Bertani and Claude Loiselle are fired or not. So it remains something between them and Lou, it seems. So far no official statement or article with anyone on record.

see my note on "shared process". Lou doesn't have that. So nobody knows a thing except piecemeal, at best.

I very much prefer "cone of silence" over reports that our coach sleeps in our GM's basement but maybe that's just me

I think if trotz were coming we would hear something on the caps end like hes been allowed to talk to other teams. I will also add that if we get yet another first time coach I wont be as upset as I have way more faith in Lou

Yes, it was last season when they wouldn't renew Trotz and it seemed Reardon was the replacement. Now, if they keep Trotz, I would pursue Reardon.. if they decide to let Trotz walk, no brainer
