Doesn't help the team finish higher in the standings when they are already expected to finish in the basement. better drafting position.

all of a sudden shows up 2 years from now after EP and others have had a couple more years of development.

how many years ago was Bo drafted? 7 years to become competitive.

The problem with giving this years pick is simple. Will they win the lotto next year, is the guy at 4oa next year better than the guy at 4oa this year? What if they trade Karlsson and Hoffman and end up better nest year?

Hoffman for nhl ready prospect and picks? Maybe they don't finish last and don't win the lotto. If that happens and they gave this years pick away, it could be a huge mistake.

I'd do it if the top-3 picks go status quo and no deals are made for Karlsson, before they are up, to recover another 1st.

If Montreal does something off the board and Zadina is available, then Ottawa should make the pick

Dave Pratt said today drafting Dobson will serve Canucks well when he will be ready in 3 or 4 years when Canucks will make a run for the cup
