In a thin draft maybe but in a deep draft like this year HELL NO!!!! Go back to the 2015 draft which was a deep draft and look at the players the Sabres could of had had they not traded picks 21 and 31...Ilya Samsonov, Boeser, Beauvillier Aho, Carlo and Sprong. Only way I trade pick 32 is to move back into the first round. If trade happy Murray had been smart he still might have a job in the NHL. Thank god Botterill believes you build through the draft especially when where the Sabres are drafting. |

Idiotic. Stop Trading First Rnd (Or top Second Rnd picks) for Goalies. BTW it was a Shock the Grubs started the playoffs, he was the hotter goalie at the time and playing much better than Holtby was. Give Trotz credit though for Starting Grub, and then seeing that he had to make the change and pull him for Holtby. Both were the correct decisions. |

A Goalie is not worth a 1st or 2nd round pick. I am sorry. A very late 2nd ok. A Mid level prospect ok. I would push to send a 3rd for a Goalie. No need to be selling of premium picks for a goaltender. |

Buffalo tried that already with Lehner. Might want to try something different this time |

Here is a description of Hickey.
Watching Brandon Hickey, it is very easy to draw comparisons to another Flames draft pick: TJ Brodie. Like Brodie, Hickey is a smooth skating, two-way rearguard that is responsible in his own end but has no issues with leaping into the rush and getting shots to the net. While not overly physical, Hickey's positioning, gap control and stick work are noteworthy - just like Brodie. |
