Sean Maloughney: A Klefbom for Ristolainen Deal Would Be Bad For Edmonton A proposed Klefbom for Ristolainen deal does not make sense for the Oilers.

It was never a fit. Buff is set on the left: Dahlin, Scandella, Guhle, McCabe. The right side is weak. Trading Risto for a LHD makes no sense

But chiarelli is probably trying to figure out if he should offer 10th overall or Yamamoto with Klefbom for Risto

You guys gotta shoot higher. Ask for Draisaitl.

Draisaitl and Klefbom for Reinhart and Risto. That should clear some cap space for you guys.

I'm just being a douche. Cheers

I thought Dahlin played on the right side?

Regardless you guys should stop hogging Rasmus-es. Give us Risto for Nurse. It’s the right thing to do.

Not an issue at all. Chiarelli is sure to sign Reaves as McDavid’s new RW.

We call them the Rasmi. Theres Asplund, too! Dahlin played left for Frölunda, but right side for the international tournaments. I think as a left shot he would be eased in on the left side

You underappreciate Risto. He’s not the best defensive defender by any stretch but he is by far their best blueliner for the time being. He had a particularly rough season last year as well.
Having said that, Klef is all around better but we could use the offence from the back end as we have next to none of it.

Didn’t understand why we bought out DSP when we could have traded him to Chia for a 2nd round pick.

Pretty sure our replacement for Klefbom is Lowe, seems to be the trend.

Made up internet arguer is very funny.

Question on that HERO chart:

If Risto plays 4 minutes more per night, how can his ice time only be an 8 compared to a 7 for Klef? Why wouldn't Risto's ice time be a 9 with how much he plays?

He plays so many minutes that it's a testament to his dedication to his game that he's rarely hurt.

If Klefbolm is on the ice alot with McDavid which he probably is, these possession stats are not entirely indicative. Sabres don't have a guy like McDavid to carry a line or other teammates or overall team possession numbers, no team does. I would bet Ristolinen is a better player all things being equal.

You’re an idiot, obviously. Risto is a good player but he’s not better than “Klefbolm”.

Please, spell names right. Also, get the facts straight. Look at TOI per teammate.

Except Jack Eichel is exactly that. He drives team-relative results at an exceptional rate for a player his age. Not McDavid level of good but good enough that the gap isn't crazy. Since Risto is on the ice a lot with Eichel, should we negate the positive impact that has had? No, we shouldn't.

Plenty of teams have guys or lines that drive positive results at comparable rates to McDavid- sometimes even better! Marchand-Bergeron-Pastrnak is a prime example.

I'm not gonna say I completely disagree with your final assessment, but I'm also not gonna completely agree. To put it simply, I think it's much closer than either side of the debate seem to want to admit. When it comes down to it, it depends upon which measures of success you value most and how you prove them. I think a case can be made for either side- especially after this past year.
