I don't understand why some people are so bent out of shape about Criscuolo. He's a depth guy who fills in for injuries only. Plays a solid 200' game in Rochester. He was signed.. for Rochester.

Well poop everyone likes to complain about something. But it irks me with this particular kid.

It's always the same old argument, "player A, B, C, D WON'T be here because they SUCK"

8/9, for example, were players with full NHL duty, and the ninth is always Criscuolo, like he got some Johan Larsson deal and is bogging this lineup down. Bothers me more than Tennyson, who was also brought up due to injuries. I mean, he was bad and all, but it's not like management was like here's a top 4 guy Housley, your problems are solved.

For (frank) sakes. He's a Rochester guy on call up. Get the (frank) over it.

He's zenon konopka, Linus omark, Seth Griffith, Cal O'Reilly

I've watched so many of these guys over the past 5 years.

Hopefully next year our call-ups are Pu, Nylander, Asplund and Olofsson. I don't want to be too hard on the guy, but his NHL future doesn't look bright. I'm just so, so sick of these guys

He played 9/82 games and had 0 points, much like Moulson's 14/82 games with 0 points. These guys were a HUGE problem imo

No he isn't. He's a (frank)ing call up.

I get it, people want more talented callups. I do too. But bashing the kid for playing 9 games in a checking line role as an injury call up is the biggest non issue on this team.

If the Sabres were like yeah let's keep Kyle here and demote Erod because Kyle is better and he got 5 points in 70 games, I'd bring my tiki torch to the party. But his situation was polar opposite of that scenario.

So were Griffith and C. O'Reilly.

Remember when our call-ups used to be guys with a future? Not necessarily game breakers, but Ennis was a callup for the '10 playoffs and Enroth was a callup when Lalime completely forgot how to play hockey.

I disagree with your last paragraph. 0p in 9 games is a big problem

Wrong. They were here on "merit". Griffith made the team out of camp because of our serious lack of NHL talent. COR played 20 games on a seriously weak bottom 6 squad. He was a Tennyson.

You can't call up guys who are not ready to play NHL minutes, despite what a lot of fans think.

"Hey, he has potential, he should be playing! Housley and Taylor and Sexton and Botterill are (frank)ing MORONS"

This requires drafting well.

Tought to call up talent when you don't have any of it. Or you're too scared to bring them up so as not to hurt their "development" in the AHL.

We know Botterill's M-O. When you're ready to play, you'll play. It's that simple.

Really. All the problems on this team and Criscuolo is a "big problem"? Really? Kid plays 9 games to fill in on the checking line and he's a "big problem"? Come on. COME ON.

One more tank year and Jack Hughes is ours

Then we can do:

Casey Jack Jack
Rasmus Rasmus
Casey (we all know Nelson can play goalie as well as he can play defense)

All I want is to see Asplund, Nylander, Olofsson, O'Regan, Borgen, Pilut, etc. be the guys who get the callups.

I am so sick of the Criscuolos of the world. Again, no offense to him, but it's been a parade of career AHLers to Buffalo and I'm done with it.

The problem is not Criscuolo. The problem is our poor depth drafting. Better drafting = better call ups.

Rochester is getting a nice infusion of young drafted and UDFA talent this year. Remains to be seen if any of those particular guys get a call up, or if someone there like Malone, Borgen or Nylander get a look this year. Cliff Pu is the 1st top 6 center depth prospect we've had in a long time with a legit chance to make the NHL. And that is the problem.

Not Kyle Criscuolo.

I'm in the same boat. I remember trying to convince myself that Mark Mancari had a future here. I own a Gerbe jersey (although that was a little more justified).

EDIT: I stood and cheered when we drafted Zach Kassian.

I'm always so hopeful and they always disappoint me.

Anyone that can be an RFA and UFA at the same time can play all positions on the ice as well.

Yeah, our depth scoring was attrocious and he was part of that.

I get what you're saying about him being a symptom of the problem, not the problem itself, but his production, along with the likes of Moulson, Nolan, Griffith, Josefson, Larsson was a major reason we were sunk 10 games into the season. Depth scoring matters
