An under the radar option I could see them taking a run at: Antoine Roussel. The Flames need to upgrade their bottom-6 and he'd be a nice place to start.

I've heard this a few times now and I just don't think it's going to be the case. Guys are raving over Reaves and Wilson these playoffs. A guy like Roussel is going to be targeted by a lot of teams.

Won't shock me to see him get 2mil a year for 3 years and have a list of suitors lined up.

Trade Brodie to NYI for a first (maybe ours back) and Josh Ho-Sang. He wants off the Island and he's a big body RW with a right-hand shot. He's the right age to fit in with the team and might bring a bit more life to the team during games.

Yeah, I was talking a little bit about that last week. Logical choice, runs a good bench. I'm pretty happy with the promotion. We'll see what he can do from here..

I don’t want this team to go after a guy like Ho-Sang. It’d be like having another’s Bennett on the team, except Ho-Sang has a (reportedly) poopty attitude.

Yeah a guy with a supposed attitude problem is the last thing this team needs right now. It doesn't make sense bringing in a guy like that given how things went for us last year.

Roussel is an interesting guy to look at, for sure. I don't know a whole lot about him to be fair but he's been good from what little I've seen of him. He might fit right in to our lineup. I'd like us to go after a guy like Reaves but Roussel is definitely intriguing.

While Reaves is probably the toughest guy in the league and looking good these playoffs, I think Roussel is the guy teams should go after.

Reaves is historical a less than 10 minute a night guy getting a ten points.

Roussel can play 12-15 minutes a night while putting up 25+. Plus he can play PK.

Maybe Reaves has had more playoff game changing plays, but I think I'd prefer Roussel as he can be on your third line and help you actually make the playoffs.

oh please...what is Ho-Sang worth straight up? Maybe a 2nd round pick like Curtis Lazar? Attitude problems and still no sure-fire thing to be a regular productive NHLer

We paid a 1st and 2 2nds for Hamonic
Brodie would fetch more than what you're suggesting...at the very least another 2nd round pick or a significantly better prospect

I don't know why Ho-Sang's name keeps coming up. I could care less about attitude problems because those things normally get blown way out of proportion. Dougie Hamilton supposedly has/had a major attitude problem, but who cares?

Ho-Sang just hasn't been very good. He's done next to nothing when he got NHL time, and he's been pretty average in the AHL. Even his OHL numbers weren't that impressive. If the Flames are getting rid of Brodie, they better be getting a lot more back than Ho-Sang.

I'd like to see us try to trade Brodie for the Brady Tkachuk pick

That would be a major step back for the Flames. Flames fans need to realize he's not Matthew 2.0. Sure, Brady may be meaner and tougher, but he hasn't shown anything close to the offensive ability Matthew has. The way Brady plays, it'll also be at least another year until he's ready for the NHL. The Flames want to compete next year. Trading one of their best defencemen for a future project doesn't help with that.

I agree and I don't think Brodie is gunna get you in the the top 10 (maybe if someone is huge on him) let alone the top 5 that you would probably need to grab Brady. Probably Ottawas pick. Blockbuster for Stone/Hoffman (preferably Stone) and number 4? Haha....wonder what it would take?

Im curious about Austin Czarnik, young right shot whos been pushed out of boston due to depth. Hes put up good points in the A and decent numbers in his limited time with Boston. Hes also a UFA and probably wont cost much. He could fit well on the right side of Gaudreau and Mony or even the 3rd line.

I completely disagree. Brady is exactly what the Flames need. I would pull that trade in a heartbeat. Too bad Brodie isn't worth anywhere near a top 3 pick.

Agree with that too. Ho Sang is a project. You shouldn't trade Brodie for a project.

I’d take ho sang but I’m not giving up much ...but low if you can or go elsewhere

Brodie should be able to get a good winger ...one could argue that any winger Vegas was able to get would be an easy deal ( not a deal with Vegas butbw comparable), teams have guys who do have the ability to produce that they are willing to deal for a 2/3/4 D man

Would trading Brodie for the highest first rounder possible make sense if the flames are confident one of the D kids can step in ?

To say that is jumping the gun a bit. He’s proven nothing. He’s not even likely to leave school for another year.

He's exactly what the Flames need in terms of the type of player he is.
