The first two games of the series could have swung either team's way. - Bill Meltzer
Shame they didn't swing both ways |

Phantoms are done, however one good thing could come from this series. Why not give a kid like Frost a taste of pro hockey. It's not like they are scoring goals anyway, so I don't see how adding a skilled kid could hurt.

Teams just don't send out players and hope it works. Come on man. Haven't you learned anything from this forum? |

Silly me, how could I possibly think that a team trailing 3-0 in a series and struggling to score goals might want to add a highly skilled youngster for game 4?
What the (frank) was I thinking???

If he causes a goal against it would ruin his career though. Gotta think about that |

So I read something a couple days ago that the Bruins will let Nash leave Fa and could look to a guy like Simmonds. The offer was Anders Bjork, Backes and 2nd rounder.
Not sure what i think of it.
First thought is they would have to retain some of the Backes money.
2nd: Backes has two years left at 6 million. Could he fill a 3rd line center role until someone is ready and then slide to wing?
3rd: Is Bjork someone I would want or would there be another young player I would prefer to him? Heinen or Donato?
Was just something I read and some thoughts that came to mind. |

Bjork is definitely the one I would want the least out of those 3. Don't think that deal makes much sense though

That's why I was trying to think things out loud.
Not sure I would want Bjork either.
Backes could be interesting if they ate a good amount of money because he could give time to Frost or whover down the middle until they are ready and then slide to wing for a year.
I was just putting things to the forum and seeing if it made sense. |

Backes at 50% + Donato + one of a)2018 first (will be a 20+ pick), b) Zboril, or c) Carlo.
It's steep, but Wayne Simmonds is kind of a unique player, and the Flyers are under no obligation to trade him. |

I just can't see Hextall trading Simmonds for a veteran, a 2nd and a so-so prospect. If Simmonds get dealt, my guess is that comes sometime between Jan 1st and the deadline, it will be to a contender, and a 1st plus an NHL ready prospect will be coming back. |

Bruins don't have a 2018 1st, that pick is owned by the Rags. |
