To say Fenton has his work cut out for him is a major understatement. But it will be interesting to see what his first move is. I'm guessing we are going to see some of this core of players disappearing.

My guess is Koivu. Who do you think will be on the move?

I doubt they're going to move a center unless they can get a center in return. Eriksson-Ek is not ready to be a 2nd line center and there's nothing in the system in terms of centers, so I doubt that's where they start. Now if they are able to upgrade via another trade, I could see it, but I don't see that as the first domino.

Koivu has a no move clause( thanks chuck, 2 more years). Likely candidates to go: Coyle, Nino, Spurgeon, Dumba, Brodin, Zucker. No one will take Foligno's contract (thanks again). Granlund could fetch a good return, but I don't see them shipping out their best playmaker. I'm interested to see what they do with Staal. I love having him here, and if he's moved then there's a giant hole at C that no one here is ready to fill. Going to be an interesting summer.

Those no move clauses aren't worth the paper they're printed on. Would Mikko entertain the idea of Montreal? I keep hearing they're in for a big play this offseason. I'd rather move Spurgeon than others. He should warrant a decent return.

I don't see koivu waiving his NMC at this point in his career, especially after being in MN for the entirety. Im open to moving anyone on roster at this point.

Agreed. I'm not opposed to a major shakeup though that doesn't seem to be in the cards. Get some young guys in here and let some players with Minnesota roots come back later in the career to help win a Cup here.

If theres a way to do it, I wouldn't mind getting William Nylander in here. Not sure what it would take though.

Hard to say really, he'd have to waive his NMC. If he was willing I think he could be a likely candidate.

Then again, hard to find good veteran centermen. Koivu near the top in the league in FOW%

Koivu can still serve a purpose on this team. He could be a good 3C for the Wild, he's good on the PK, and still plays good defense. He doesn't need to be on the PP. Im hoping next year they give Eriksson Ek a chance at 2C, or maybe even bring in someone to fill that role via trade.
