I’m willing to teach Duff how to think for himself if Todd Cordell can fill in for the next couple years. It’ll take a while.

Obvious depth signing. Nothing more. Coreau, Machovsky, and very likely McCollum are all out the door and they need warm bodies to fill creases in Grand Rapids and Toledo. Before this signing, Howard and Kaden Fulcher were the only goalies in the entire system with contracts for next season.

They bring over a decent goalie in Machovsky and then embarrass themselves by putting him in the ECHL so he leaves back to CZE.

Hopefully they are smarter with this guy.

My mostly-joking theory is that Ken Holland just has an irrational hatred for Czechs and Slovaks.

Most of those slot somewhere between "unceremonious" and "acrimonious" on the bad divorce scale.

Probably the only reason he re-claimed Frk was so that he would eventually get the opportunity to lose him for nothing a second time.

I'm picking the Caps simply because of the hurdles they overcame this year. Any team that beats both Pittsburgh and then Tampa Bay is Cup bound in my opinion. Sort of like when the Wings finally beat the Avalanche in '96. It's Ovechkin's year... finally.

Vegas has had a great run... but I just don't seem them beating the Caps. But it is the playoffs... and Fleury could wind up being the difference. Not much any team can do against a super hot goaltender. I still like the Caps in 6 games.
