Vasy stole it for sure but the PP basically went 2 for 2 which can't be discounted.

A win is a win and now it's a best of 3 series which the Bolts have home ice. Let's hope home ice comes into play.

Amalie will be rocking Saturday night.

Vasy showed why he was a Veizna Trophy finalist that game. Hopefully the team tries to play some decent hockey in front of him next game.

The Caps clog the hell out of the neutral zone. I don't want to call it a trap, but it's a trap. The Penguins never adjusted to it...will the Lightning make the adjustment?

The Lightning got bashed so bad back in 2011 when Boucher was the coach and had the Bolts play a 1-3-1 so I have no problem calling the Caps system a trap. Washington's 1-1-3 is not much different. But look at the past two games, the Bolts got a lead in the first which was huge and disrupted the Caps 1-1-3 because they were now chasing the game.

It's crazy how seamlessly the Caps are able to carry the puck into the zone, where as the Lightning have been struggling to do so, even with all their talent at offense. The dump and chase and chip passes have been working well, so hopefully they continue to do that. As long as they dont take 4 penalties in a row, killing all their momentum, I think they have a good chance of winning Game 5.

the lightning play the complete opposite of the trap is why the transition happens so easily, the defense have to keep the rush to the outside until the forwards get back and start picking up men, the F3 high forward is extremely important to the lightning, and if he gets caught deep they're (frank)ed with odd man rushes. but its also why you see such high offense for us and also relatively easy break outs for the other team. the forecheck of the bottom 2 forwards needs to be relentless all of the time for the breakouts to become harder for opponents. puck retrieval , puck pressure, and puck posession is the name of the game for the lightning. it's also why our D pinch constantly. We saw how important the F3 was on the coburn pinch, he pinched with no F3, terrible decision, but also where was the f3? i hope they keep chipping it in and attacking with speed as well. go bolts

Don’t try and have a decent conversation with Tanner he is the worst blogger on the site, loves to post stuff just to get hits and will cry all day long. He’s a snowflake that will need some puppies and a safe space if we win tomorrow night. He’s a very sad little man incapable of dealing with reality.
