I don't see either Price or Weber moving with those contracts. Not unless MTL swallows a lot of salary.

My Leafs should make a strong push for Weber, he's the perfect fit for Reilly.

Nylander and a 1st for Weber and McCarron

^ I’d do Nylander + 1st for Weber and McCarron in a heartbeat. I’ll even drive Weber to the airport

Who would be dumb enough to take him?

The Habs are the Leafs under Richard Peddie. They need to be blown up

It's safe to say they'd consider trader either or both for the right deal.

But in a heartbeat?

Plenty of teams would just love to add either player, despite their contracts.

Weber most of all.

On a side note: Feels the the Canes are sooo close to being a top team and their new owner who fancies himself a Know-It-All is about to blow the whole thing up

Canes seemed to be on the Jets path (Francis getting the same heat Cheveldayoff did not making any significant trades, the odd poor signing, just missing playoffs, etc) building through the draft. Note 2 years ago Jets got the #2 overall, drafted Laine, and look at them now

Could that have been where the Canes were headed?

It would be impressive to trade one terrible contract for two terrible contracts

Nashville isn't in cap trouble. If they can find a way to move out Rinne they will be fine

Projected 13 million in cap space next year and no key players to re-sign

Rinne off the books after that, Bring him back extra cheap or move on to Soros

If anything they should be looking to add a key player

I think the Canes were on the right path with building through the draft. Issue the Canes have that is different from the Jets is they havent drafted a Scheifele or a Laine. I think the Canes for sure need to make a big trade. But dont do it out of desperation.

I think they have the chance to get one of those player this year with #2. Then if DumDum loosened the purse strings, they could have found the other though FA, or taken on a contract through a trade

Seems like they are "right there" and they are going to rebuild for no reason

Darling was a huge mistake tbh. I dont think FA market is going to be that great. But the Canes are on the right path. It'll be interesting to see what they do for trades since they got 3 guys in the same role with Skinner, Aho and Teravainen.

Chevy did the same thing with Steve Mason, now Hellebuyck is the guy there. Can't hang a guy for 1 bad signing, Looking at Ron Francis's other work, I don't see any other huge mulligans that suggest his time as GM was a big waste and needs to be undone

Being a cap floor-ish team puts huge restraints on what a GM can do

Where not gonna trade either both. Best moves so far where the hiring of Ducharme and now Bouchard. We'll get a really good player with the #3 pick and maybe add depth with UFA and trading at that point. Wouldn't be surprised if there's at least a new bonafide #2 center in our team on opening match.

For the rest, we will see
