Agreed.
But if Calgary is willing to move Hamilton for Kadri.... do it!!!

- Fakepartofme

I guess I would, but if it's Nylander I'd have an easier time with it.

Should’ve traded JVR, Bozak, and Komarov for Hamilton. (frank)ing Leafs.

No he quit.
Couldn't do the travel...similar to what occurred in Anaheim.
Was willing to finish to the year, but if he wasn't planning on sticking around the following year, the team would let him leave mid season.

Pretty sure the team decided it was time to part ways,

Only Burkie can say "it's time to move on after getting the job done."

When you make the playoffs 40% of the time, what else is left to do?

Doesn't make much difference, Team is a tire fire - big signing - coach who was 137 wins and 207 losses with the canes (53 OTL) - in 4 full seasons and never made the playoffs once during his stay.

The end of what?
When Burke was hired..there was nothing going on to end.

What about Jett Woo? Good size and skill.. If available at 25, should take him Although, I am hoping Bode Wilde falls to 25, that would bode well for the Leafs and it would be wild for the fans... A good puck mover and uses his size effectively and is an RHD.

I can't see how the cap works in that situation.
- Aetherial

it's (frank)ing tight 2 years from now.

some relief when marleau goes.

can also bridge nylander or marner to keep costs down in 2019/20.

I dont see Matthews signing for 10m per. Chances are his agent will do like other superstars and ask for a certain percentage of the cap.... about 15- 18%.
Which at 81 million is 12.1 - 15 million

I read that Farabee is committed to Boston University. I would pass if he falls out of the top 15.. Could have a situation where he refuses to sign here and then can choose where he plays.
- PatC80

I dont know anything about that. That dude does way more prospect stuff so I assume its not much of a concern?

Teams have been scared away from lots to good players for silly things like that. Sometimes it bites you in the ass if you pass on a player because he might do something or has a bad rap

Hainsey at B+
He was ok, started strong but really leveled off in the 2nd half.
He played a billion PK minutes which he gets a lot of credit for.

Polak is he same, people say we need him for the PK..but the PK % with and without him are almost identical. And I would bet the same if you replaced Hainsey with someone else. in the end it wouldnt be a big difference if any

edit: was B+ not A-

Trouba has already asked for a trade in the past, and after next year, he is a UFA I believe, so they may want to trade him before he potentially walks.

Carlsson might want to test free agency to see what he can get, and there have been reports out of Calgary potentially being open to moving Hamilton(albeit for an outrageous price) due to their depth in that position.

If anything McDonagh is the least likely possibility out of all to those names as Tampa just traded for him.

- Archaic

Maybe Trouba will want to stay now that they are contenders.

Speaking of pussies, can they not get rid of Gardiner and sign Kane?
