Peter Tessier: Jets take game 1 in surprise attack Jets gave Vegas a dose of their own medicine and it was hard to swallow.

The Jets have looked awesome. They’re big, fast, skilled, healthy and have home ice from here.

The Vegas fairy tail is over. They’ll be lucky to push this to Game 6.

Jets should be okay as long as certain D-men don't hang CH out to dry - I'm looking at you Tyler Myers. Major brain fart on the Karlsson goal, rushing out to challenge a man at the blue line. Chiarot remains to have a few wtf moments, but not a bad 6th dman ffor now.
I would love for Ehlers to score our next goal, but Not really worried about his lack of scoring. His overall game has been good, e.g. great sliding shot block in the 3rd period.....
On another note, is there any way we can afford Stasny next year? Feeling insecure about our second line center next year....

If there is any chance we can bring Stastny we need to make it happen. If that means moving someone like Little it needs to be done

Reaves is totally ineffective. Outdated tough guy with nothing too add.

Love the idea of keeping Stastny. Does he want to stay?
Maybe some wheeling and dealing brings us surprises. Can't help but think of the giant strides Kyle C and Jack R will make next year...

Can we afford him? How much term and per year? Don't want to overpay on a 32 1/2 yo player like St. Louis did the last time. He is a great player and a great hockey mind but at 7 mill, forget it. How much term and dollars? 4 mill for 3 years??

Here are the players at the end of this season that have contracts up for negotiation. RFA's: Forward: Lowry, Armia, Tanev, Dano, UFA's: Statsny, Matthias, Hendricks,
D: RFA's: Trouba, Morrisey, Poolman, Morrow UFA: Enstrom
G: RFA: Helle UFA: Hutch

I think it is safe to say the potential larger deals would be Trouba if we can sign him, Morrisey and Helle, Statsny (maybe). Eveyone else would be less money like Lowry, Poolman, Armia, Tanev, (Morrow?)

Matthias, Hendricks, Dano, Enstrom all gone.

Bear in mind that next year, Laine, Connor perhaps Myers need a deal next year as well.

I'm focusing on the series with Vegas and the game tonight.. The rest can wait till after. I consider it bad karma to even think about that stuff. It's a big game this evening to keep home-ice advantage. I know both teams will be amped up. Let's see if Toby is on the ice this morning or if someone like Poolman or Morrow is slotting in. I dont expect any other changes.

I can't imagine Enstrom being OK after that hit but we will see what the morning skate brings.
