WHy is that? If it’s knee it’s unrelated to his previous injuries. The ice in charlotte is not great who knows if he caught a rut or not.
Just a bad year.

Totally ridiculous comment...I can't believe I'm even spending the time to respond.

Get well Sam, we’ll see ya at camp.

Also, Lyon is seriously making a great case for himself to be one of the Flyers goalies next year. Kid has been a beast!

Whatever Sam Morin did to the Hockey Gods in a past life, it must have been pretty eff'd up. Guy can't seem to buy a break.

Why? Because he had, from all appearances, a core muscle issue (and likely related subsequent issues) this season and then a knee injury that could happen to anyone? Injuries were not a big issue in his career before this year. Had a broken jaw in junior hockey.

understand your frustration...while he over cooks in the minors it's hard not to be. But he's still a young d-man. If the Flyers don't feel he can bring more to the table then a Brandon Manning or Radco Gudas type come training camp then they will have no alternative but to move on from the player because there is no chance he plays in the A next year. It just won't be because of one bad year of injuries.

I'm not ready to give up on Morin but injuries aside are there even a good deal of inpact NHL players who've taken 5+ years from their draft to make their full time debut? Honestly curious.

I really don't have an issue taking a strong defensive defensemen type at 19 in case Morin for some reason doesn't work out. It's an element the NHL could really use imo.

Poor Sam Morin, he has THE worst luck.

That said, as bill points out, these are not related and could happen to anyone. The Core muscle injury to a defenseman (backwards skating on your inside edges, it is all core). That will take a while to get back to 100%. He could have simply hit a rut and hurt his knee. Hears hoping that he was held out for the remainder of the game so that it could be evaluated more fully and he was not simply rushed out in a situation where he could do permanent damage.

The Sanheim knee injury is worrying because his wheels are so much a part of his game.

Imagine being a -450 series favorite against a team missing their top two players and getting embarrassed in 5 games. Brutal. Process of elimination.

At least the confetti didn't go to waste.

This would of never happened if they didn't just let him learn in the press box all season

It must suck to live such a miserable life that he has to drag down others along with him just so he doesn't feel so alone.

You kidding, I've got a great life. I'm a middle aged single Dad, I play in a garage band. Living the dream!

In my spare time, I make excuses for why a team hasn't won in 4+ decades.

Want to switch lives?

Yeah it's pretty sad.

Hell, most pundits had the Sixers missing the playoffs, and finishing right around .500. Certainly even the most optimistic folks never had them winning a playoff round. FFS, they're probably one of, if not the youngest teams in the NBA and they will likely have yet another lottery pick with the Lakers pick at the 2018 draft. This team is going to be a monster for a long time.

All in all, it's a great time to be a Philly sports fan.

The Flyers made the playoffs, have a great prospect group, 2 first round picks in the top 20 in the upcoming draft and they'll be shedding more dead weight just by letting guys on expiring contracts walk. They are set up to soon be a top team for a long time. Also, their minor league team, which is being fueled from some great play by prospects like Lyon, Lindblom, Vecchione, and Myers is doing great in the AHL playoffs.

The Phillies are well over .500 and have some great young arms and bats. They have an owner who is willing to spend like the big boys too so you have to think that they will be a contender pretty soon.

And while I know as a Cowboy fan you probably don't want to hear this, but the Eagles just won the (frank)ing Superbowl and they are still the class of the NFC East going into 2018 and are a legit contender to win it again.

How any Philly sports fan can be negative right now is something that I just can't understand.

Unfortunately mine doesn't. I don't have two nickels to rub together. I'm homeless, and live under a bridge. My only luxury is internet message boards. Hoping things get better.

No way, because I am a single middle aged dad who plays in a moderately successful band, living the dream.

In my spare time, I cheer for my teams that are young and upwardly trending towards greatness.

You old fellers need to fizz out. This is a young mans league now! Im on the cusp of my prime ready to take the league by storm. Some call it cocky, I say its confidence. And you know what built all my confidence? Learning oodles of lessons in the press box
