Lightning have fallen under the radar with all of the attention focused elsewhere these playoffs. they seem to be absolutely locked in right now. can't see Washington winning more than a game. |

I will refrain from making predictions - predictions in hockey are pointless. Just look at the Golden Knights for all the proof you need that predictions are meaningless. Anything can happen.
Having said that, I am glad Tampa is playing the Capitals.
1) I can't stand the Penguins or Crysby (or most of their fans).
2) I have always liked Ovechkin.
3) I think the Caps are deserving of a trip past round two.
4) Now the Lightning get a chance to crush Brooks Orpik (paper tiger wussy).
Whatever happens in this series, I hope it is over quick.

Caps outplayed the Pens quite significantly, Holtby was amazing, and the Pens still took it to 6 games, and a post by Malkin late in game 3 and a post by Kuhnackle in game 6 OT, mean that the Caps only won this series by a couple of inches. |

That being said, I would like to see Ovie get a Stanley Cup. Unfortunately I think Barry Trotz is the biggest douchebag in the NHL, so can't cheer for them this year. |

Yes, this. I lost some Ovi love after he started becoming a Putin cheerleader.
I think Ovi isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer - he's an amazing hockey player, but how much does he really know about Russia's internal politics or Putin's motivations? I am not making excuses for the guy, just pointing out that Putin has a lot of dumbass followers just like Trump does - people who don't know the issues and think they do.
