Mark Paul: Florida Panthers Trading Partners (Arizona Coyotes) The Florida Panthers have stated publicly that they're looking to make a big splash in the off-season. This is the third part in a league-wide search for great potential trading partners for the Panthers. Today we will look at the Arizona Coyotes.

Why did you throw in a 2nd round pick too?

I would like OEL gets the first, prospect and roster player. Does the salary work though? If not Arizona might have to retain some for the remainder of OEL's current deal.

Or, at the very least he's qualified to be the GM of the Islanders, if the DET blogger position doesn't work out

I'll A) believe that when I see it and B) be happy only if either Snow is entirely terminated (aka not moved to some other position) or they flat-out announce that Lamoriello has full-control over all hockey operations and Snow was effectively demoted in order to save face.

If that turd has any say in things while Lou's here, it's a lipstick-on-a-pig move. I'm not totally convinced that Lou doesn't just want to take the job because his kid/grandkids are here and there is approximately zero accountability in the Islanders organization. He could be looking at is as, basically, a full-pay retirement gig.

lou will push snow to the margins. he'll likely give his all (between naps).

what's even more crazy is ek may have got one right.

if lou goes to the island, tavares stays.

I'm not as confident about Tavares. This is purely a reactionary move, not a proactive one. He may not feel like sticking around and continuing to wait, wait, and wait some more for everything. The arena, a stable defense/goaltending situation, etc...

I hope Lamoriello comes here, but I think a lot of fans will assume that will be the fix-all for everything and I don't share that feeling. Major improvement, absolutely. But I don't think it makes their problems go away at all.

an honestly reasonable trade proposal... might take more because of the multitude of other teams competing with offers but not at all a homer proposal

With getting rid of Matheson (who has a 4.875 cap hit) that'll be equivalent to OEL's 5.5 in the last year of his contract.

The "other draft pick" just always seems to be included in deals like this. Could be a third but my guess is that so many teams will be in on this that it'll be those extras that pushes a team over the top.

That's fair.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a GM overpay though with like 2 firsts and a decent prospect.
