Now the fun of seeing if they make both the picks or bundle them and or a player for something bigger.

I doubt Hextall trades either pick if he’s not moving up.

So we haven't upgraded in goal, acquired a 3C, traded Giroux and Simmonds, or moved up into the top 3 in the draft yet?

Offseason in total shambles!!

I'll hang up and listen

After watching a couple games from the Winnipeg/Nashville series. Really have to wonder how close the flyers are, which I think they are closer to a buffalo/Ottawa level than these teams. The points may not reflect it but they have a lot of work to do to get to these teams levels. Keep the picks and make good choices

I don't disagree that they're not an elite team right now, but I also don't think they're a basement dweller either. I expect them to keep moving towards the elite level over the next 2 years.

I'd have to agree. I think the Flyers skaters are, as a group, better than that of the bottom dwellers, but once you factor in the goaltending, the Flyers are closer to the bottom than the top right now. Not by much, but a bit? Yeah.

No matter what changes they make to the fowards and D groups, if they go into 18-19 with the Elliott/Neuvirth tandem, or even if they find a way to move Neuvirth and they stay in house and go with Elliott/Lyon, I can't see any way that they are any better than a bubble team again next year.

If they figure out how to move on from Badko losing that turnover prone defense duo might help the cause of the goalies a bit.

My Flyers wish list for 18-19 in order of preference:

1. Acquire a quality third center
2. Find an upgrade in goal
3. Add a good, fast, PKer with skill to the bottom 6
4. Trade Gudas and let Morin & Myers compete for his spot
5. Trade up from 19 into the top 12 in the 2018 draft

I think can if they can have a better team defense.

So looking at the draft lottery, can there be a package to get to 4? I think Ottawa is the target.

I doubt Hextall really feels comfortable going with the Elliott/Neivirth tandem, but what would people expect him to say:

"Man, Elliott was good, but he really poop the bed against Pittsburgh. Neuvirth is made of glass, we can't rely on him to get off the bus without bleeding out."

I don't see both moving on, but I don't think they'll stand pat either.

No doubt it would help, but lets face it, the Flyers current top 3 goalies (Elliott, Neuvirth, Lyon) are basically average goalies. They need better and I don't want to wait 2-3 years for Hart (hopefully) to be that guy.

I'm really just all in on hoping that Hart has 20 or so dominant AHL games, then Neuvirth gets hurt, Hart gets the call up, and we never look back. Safe bet, solid plan, right?!??

It will probably cost both firsts and 2 prospects, likely Morin/Myers and Rubstov/Ratcliffe.

If you aren't landing Svechnikov or Zadina, I don't think it's worth the cost to move up to 4. I'd rather see them package #19 with a lesser pick and prospect and move up into the 10-14 range. I'd try and target Edmonton's pick, there is no GM easier to fleece than Chia.

Stranger things have happened, but I doubt Hart is here to stay before game 1 in 19-20 at the earliest

I would really be curious on Lehner if he doesn't get a QO. I know he is a head case but so was Cechmanek.

I think that's a lateral move, personally.
