Bob Duff: Will Lidstrom's birthday prove a lucky day? Saturday is the 48th birthday of former Detroit Red Wings Swedish defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom, and it's also the day the Wings hope to win the NHL draft lottery and the right to claim another Swedish rearguard, Rasmus Dahlin.

Meanwhile... down on the farm in Grand Rapids:

I won two tickets to the Griffins on Monday. We'll see if they can close out the series in game 5. I was at last night's game. Solid win.

I have to say Svechnikov keeps surprising me with his grit / toughness. He doesn't take crap from anybody on the ice. Any time I see someone take a shot at him he makes them pay twice as hard.
