Right, we all know that there isn't going to be very much 5 on 5 in this series. Who's kidding who?
It really comes down to which Predator team shows up. The one from the first four games of the Colorado series will lose to the Jets. The one from games 5-6 won't. It's literally that simple.
Either way, they're going to beat the hell out of each other. |

Toss up. If Nashville wins the first 2. they win in 6. If the Jets win one out of the first 2. Jets in 7 |

So 7 games by 6 goals a game, so 45 goals total.

I like the Jets, but I have a hard time really deciding based on the play of both teams.
1) I expected the Wild to take them 7 games with a possible upset and I was way off. The Wild are a very good team that the Jets disposed of with some ease.
2) I expected NSH to take that series 4 games and I was way off. The AVS have exceeded expectations, but they shouldn't have given NSH that much trouble.
If you use that reasoning, WPG should take down NSH. My guess however is NSH went into round 1 thinking this will be a cakewalk and had a hard time getting their heads straight, but eventually figured it out.
I expect to see a much more focused, motivated and prepared NSH team in Round 2. So yeah, I like the Jets, but this thing is going 7 games and I have no idea who's walking away.
Regardless, I think the team that represents the West in the Cup comes out of this series... no leap in that prediction. |

Even more reason to question how good WPG would look against NSH. |

Wild were missing Suter and Parise for 2 games... yes they're important players on MIN but if you want to talk banged up the Jets were down to their 8th and 9th D already. Perreault Armia and Mason are still banged up. Thankfully the D is getting healthier but Winnipeg has faced adversity all year and have played next man up. What happens to the Preds if they start dealing with injuries? |
