I like Coyle and Nino. .what's return look like that makes the team better overall? I like the idea of Stahl to Toronto

Staal would be a massive gamble if a team had to give up any significant asset. Odds are he doesn't repeat last season.

Any Staal trade would be similar to other rental deals, unless he agreed to an extension. Picks, b-tier prospect, and whoever the team receiving him wanted to give up to make the cap work.

Granlund, Dumba, Brodin, Coyle, Zucker... those are the guys they would be more able to make a hockey trade around.

Its tough to say right now because they had such bad playoff performances... Nino probably has more trade value than Coyle but of all of them I'd prefer to keep Nino. Let Zucker sign elsewhere and maybe package Coyle and Brodin in a trade for a good center.

If BB is going to still be the coach of this team, best trade candidates should be Granlund and Zucker. Though both are fast skilled forwards, they don't fit the size requirements for BB's system. He likes the bigger, skilled players. That's why I think Greenway will eventually be a bigger asset on the Wild then most think. If the Wild could actually pull off a sign and trade deal of Zucker for Haula/Tuch, I would be extremely happy with that idea.

I think the Koivu deal is the biggest problem for them right now. Say the Zucker/Haula/Tuch deal did go through. Centers would be Staal, Haula, Kunin, JEE and Koivu. Out of all of them, I think Koivu would the 4th line C.

There are a lot of problems with this roster. No one is really even touching on what to do with Ennis. If bought out, the Wild would save about $2.4 mil the first year and be on the hook for $1.2 mil the second year. If traded, the Wild will probably have to eat some of the salary. He's just another player that does not fit the BB system very well. If I were the new GM, headed out the door come hell or high water would be Ennis, Spurgeon, Zucker and Granlund...and if possible, Koivu. And I really hate saying Koivu, because I have been a fan of his since he got here, but the reality of it being a business makes this a necessary move.

Saying that, I wonder if Staal's words meant he knows that he could be a good trade chip for the Wild, so he WANTS a new GM that will send him away from the team?
