Bring on D Sutts!!!!!!

Peters I think would just be a lateral move, which doesn’t make sense.

Please hire Bill Peters.

Can't wait to see him try to coach a team with a supposedly solid group of defensemen, scoring depth issues and somewhat questionable goaltending instead of trying to coach a team with a supposedly solid group of defensemen, scoring depth issues and somewhat questionable goaltending.

First time I can say agree if with you Cleatus, Sutter would be an excellent choice.

Exactly!!

*BT should be canned if it’s Peters. You’d hope that BB would step in if it was another rookie type coach.

Yeah this is why Peters makes no sense to me. He and Gulutzan were basically the same coach with basically the same type of roster.

I think it's likely Tre's been talking to AV, though I don't know how much I like his fit here. Sutter is interesting and might be the best option, and then there's Tippett.

I still don't think coaching was the issue, but it is what it is. I really hope Tre has a plan, because this screams "panic move" to me.

Tre has to get it right next season. Gotta believe that if this team fails again everyone from Ken King down to the guy who sells pocket dogs will be gone.

Tippett is awful. Don't even go there. Sutter will only be good if you want a defense first style of team. Not sure how anyone sees Sutter, and his system as a fit with this team.

I like Peters for the sole reason that he is similar to GG.

The Flames ranked near the bottom in goals. They are not an offensive juggernaut, might not be a bad idea to think defense first.

I agree but then what's the point of firing Gully if we're just going to hire a guy who coaches almost the exact same style? I like Peters, I just think the fact that we fired Gully just to bring him in is the definition of a lateral move.

They were near the top of the league in shots taken, and high quality scoring chances. They suffered a sub 8% shot % for the first time since 2012. An average shot % would put them right around 10th in the league for goals. This team can be an offensive juggernaut, but never will be under Sutter.

I think Treliving had to fire him. I would wager that if he didn't, he'd be out of a job himself.

I really think that GG lost the room. Major lokibg skid like we had at the end of the year just seems like the players tuned him out.

Peters having similar systems Night not be a bad thing. If they do choose him maybe he can get more out of the players. IDK.

I really don't see anyone that sticks out to me as the invitar choice.

All I know is that it is going to be another slow start next year.

Yeah I like Peters the most out of the options that are out there, but the players tuning out two coaches in 4 years is pretty concerning. I really jope Tre fixes whatever the Hell the locker room problem we have is.

I know luck played a role in the Flames' offensive woes but this team was also a train wreck defensively. If someone could come in and fix that then I think the offense will come along as well.

Sutter winning 2 cups within the last 6 years is not a fluke IMO. He's the type of coach that has a short shelf life but I mentioned the other day that this team is built to win now, not 2 or 3 years down the road. I'd love to seem him get another chance with the Flames. I worry that he may end up in Oil country

My sources say Randy Carlyle is going to be the next coach of the Flames. That is as soon as Anaheim fires him.

If players are tuning out their coach when they're in the middle of a playoff battle, it's time to get new players.

Brilliant which team are you dealing all of your players too? I assume the return for all of that will be at least a couple 2nd round picks

This team needs more than a new coach. They need a motivational speech from Squilliam and need to stop doing coke all summer (cough monahan)

Not a fluke at all, but the kings are a much different team. They were suited to his style. Slow, defensive, hard hitting. There's a reason why guys like Lucic, Iginla, and Lecavalier excelled there.
