Very dirty, and deserving of a suspension. And I say that as someone cheering for the Jets.

Also saw more than one jets fan saying it was an accident, since he's not a dirty player. Players without a prior history take part in dangerous plays all the time. As evidenced here.

To me the discussion starts at 10 games...but 20 would be reasonable as well. Surprised his neck didn't snap in two. That could've ended a career or worse.

He's one of the cleanest players in the game. Accident maybe. But he should get 1 game. First time offender. 10 games? com'on man

"The refs looked at it and they decided not to call it because we were already on the power play," Wild head coach Bruce Boudreau said.

Sadly, this is correct.

Hockey is the only franking sport in the entire franking world where a referee sees an infraction, then quickly asks the following:

- what is the score?
- how much time is left in the game?
- how many penalties have I already called on Team A?
- how many penalties have I already called on Team B?
- how good a player is the transgressor?
- how good a player is the victim?
- how late in the season/post-season is this game being played?

It's a complex mathematical formula - more complex than the Buzztron 2000 - which ultimately determines if it is a penalty or not.

Cross-check to the face in front of the net? Sorry, it's already a powerplay in a playoff game - no penalty.

It's a franking joke.

Exactly.
Total hockey play until he inadvertently struck Eric in the ear with a check which was ment for his arm.
Unlucky play.

If you want to say he's a clean player that's fine.

But to argue it was an accident is ludicrous. What else could he possibly have been doing trying to do that resulted in him cross checking a player who's 6 foot 4?

Probably won’t get suspended... Subban didn’t get anything for his high hit on Monday, Marchand didn’t get anything for his low sliding hit Monday and Hedman didn’t get anything for hitting Hischier between the legs with his stick on Monday.... but Doughty got suspended for a clean hit lol such a joke

The NHL has set the precedent with how they handle repeat offenders like Marchand.

They clearly don't give a (frank) less about players safety.

I guess we need to being back goons to face punch people.

I stand by my opinion regardless of his prior history.

Accident? My response is what you said "com'on man"

There was no penalty on the play.

NHL is going to sweep this under the rug.

No suspension.

Hell, I doubt there will even be a fine.
