I was there and I agree, I hate them (frank)ing noise makers. The place was so loud those things were not needed. Honestly it was louder when it was all cheers then those clappers.

But how about the DEPTH of the Lightning with our 2nd and 3rd line. Hall was great and almost single handily (assist from Palat) got the Devils close but when the Bolts played their style and could sustain the Devils struggled. Still lots of hockey to be played, going to be a fun rest of the series. Hopefully the Bolts stay out of the box and the top line gets going to join in the fun the second and third lines were having.

My ears were ringing for hours after the game but the place was on another level last night no doubt. After seeing game one i think each game we will see one of the top 3 lines look dominant. The Devils dont have the necessary depth tho handle 3 lines that can score, plain and simple. I think they did well to stop the Stammer line but they deployed all there defensive weapons to do so and that allowed lines 2 & 3 to have there way with the rest of the line up. It doesnt help the devils defensively that taylor hall camps at the offensive blue line waiting for stretch passes so if he is on the ice and we are working the forecheck we have an advantage so long as we dont give up the homerun pass.

It bodes well for the rest of the playoffs if the second and third line can continue to produce offensively, even when the first line isnt going. It still amazes me how well Johnson plays when playoffs roll around. He was flying the whole night.

You want painful to listen to? I listened to the Lightning radio broadcast. Love Phil Espo but that Dave Mishgin (sp?) is awful. I couldn't tell what was going on listening to his play by play. And forget about it if the Lightning score. His typical reaction to a goal is to scream as loud as he can. LIGHTNING GOAL!!!!!LIGHTNING GOAL!!!!!LIGHTNING GOAL!!!!!

Not that the Devils announcers are much better, but that screaming is god awful. Is that what they teach in broadcasting school?

haha i think its pretty funny, although i don't ever listen to it so i only hear it from time to time. i think announcers want to have their own unique way of calling goals that people will know it's them when they do it...but i am not sure

I agree 100%. I have always disliked Mishkin and most of the fans I know don't care for him one way or another, or they dislike him also. He does have his boosters though, because he's held on to the job for a while. But yeah, he screams like every goal is triple overtime of a game 7 in the finals. I wish he would just dial it down a couple of notches - other than this lack of volume control, I could live with it.

Well this game is coming along quite nicely. Love the line combos we are rocking right now, even our forth line is playing well. Bodes well for this tea,
