Frenchie -- where did you see that CGY wanted their lottery pick back? Not that I don't believe you, I just didn't catch that myself.

I also can't imagine the Islanders are over the moon for any CGY defensemen except Hamilton, who I would venture to guess the Flames aren't exactly dying to part with.

They mentioned it on Insider Trading a few weeks back on TSN. They want theirs or any other pick to get back in the first round.

Personally it sounds like wishful thinking to get their own back, but I can see them calling up teams with Brodie's name attached.

Ahh, that I think I heard. I thought you meant they were specifically asking the Islanders for their pick back.

The absence of Lotto-Balls Hall is going to devalue that pick

With an Art Ross each and a Hart for Henrik, it’s hard to put up an effective argument against them becoming future members of the HHOF. Maybe not First Ballot, but they’ll get in.

Do you think that Martin St. Louis is a surefire HOFer?

It has been mentioned that the flames would like to get a first round pick. I haven't heard anyo e say they want their pick. That is wishful thinking. I don't think any team in the lottery will be trading there pick, no matter how small a chance they have. Look what happen last year. After the lottery, they may be open for business.

I don't think anyone thought Seguin was a bust. Some thought he wasn't dedicating himself 100%. I think for most the consensus opinion was that he would never meet his potential to be a top center playing on a team that already had established centers in Krejci and Bergeron. Seeing how the Bruins have been able to rebuild around them, I don't think trading Seguin was a mistake. The mistake was trading him for the return the got.

Seguin > Krejci. Trading him was a mistake, luckily for B's fans, they managed to hire someone competent to right the ship.

Not everything...career and near-career years from some. As a whole, below expectations. I think the D issues was as much about pairings and the lack of chemistry between players... coaching decisions. Ya I thing GG is the easy fall guy. Another new coach for Calgary.

Good write up Adam...

See, I don't think he is. He was a very good player with a good story, but to me, he's just on that next tier of players that are one step down, the Rod Brind'Amour's of the world.

What are your thoughts on Sam Rockwell playing George W. Bush in a movie about Richard Cheney?

Not sure how a guy can win two Art Ross Trophies, a Hart and a Lindsey and NOT be in the Hall.
