Garth has lost it.
He has thrown out is conspiracy theory regarding Matthews again. Now he is suggesting the NHL will fix the draft lottery in favourof a “large market Canadian team” (read Mtl or Van).
Matthews, like Eichel and McDavid are the rare and unique types of generational players that come along every 10-12 years
Ok. Generational players come along every generation. If three players come along at the same time, two of them cannot be generational players. And if they could, how the heck is he including Jorts Jack with those two studs?
The 2015 draft was not the McDavid/Jack draft. The Sabres tanked fir McDavid not Eichel. Heck. Marner looks like a better player than GMJE these days.

Clearly, Evander Kane was the guy whom the Sabres needed to trade for a bag of pucks (I mean draft picks). The problem with the Sabres starts at the top. This organization needed a veteran GM who has been down this road before. Not saying Botterill won't figure it out, but it's going to take longer... longer than any Sabres fan is hoping for right about now. In the meantime, I'm sure the Pegulas will accept Russ Brandon's recommendation to raise ticket prices once again. |
