At the moment, I'd argue that the one game left against Anaheim is more important than the two against Colorado. If LA can stay ahead of Anaheim and keep the last Pacific spot, it won't really matter if Colorado passes them in points. The games against Colorado are 4-point games only if Anaheim passes LA, since only then would LA and Colorado be fighting for the same spot (one of the two wildcard spots). Every game is important for the points, but I would circle March 30th against Anaheim as the most important game left on the calendar at this particular moment.

They have to get there tied with Anaheim first. Anaheim’s schedule is easier however like us they play down to their opponents. If they can pull off a win tonight they can lose to Colorado. Hoping for at least a point tonight.

But they got the point. Should have had the other if Carter doesn’t miss that shot! 6 min of penalty kill in the 2nd period tired them out! Great game by Forbort and the defense. Campbell was fantastic!

While I can commend Forbert's warrior spirit in taking those blocks, more than one time his poor defensive positioning was bailed out. He falls in love with following the puck carrier all the way to the wall and then his partner is outnumbered down low. Growing pains I guess, but it's been costing goals.

Exactly... He must've still been in MAN during Murray's homeplate mentality meetings...

Support comes from the forwards as well and that’s where we’re severly lacking. It’s just not a defender going to the boards. The system breaks down when a team is overmatch with speed and skill. Bottom line was one goal in regulation and great credit goes to Forbort for his contribution!

On the plays where he it out of position, the forwards have nothing to do with it. If anything the forwards are supporting in coming down the boards to meet the puck carrier but Forbert keeps chasing to make it a 2-1 at the boards when he should've peeled off and let the forward continue the pressure. Forbert is just getting flat out beat and it's costing us grade-A chances against.

Forwards can support the defense when they can anticipate what the defensemen will do or know when they're in danger. They can't play safety net for them all of the time because they're forwards, after all, and need to play up the ice and get open for passes when the defensemen appear to have things under control. When defensemen make boneheaded mistakes or are beaten when they shouldn't be in those situations, the forwards are often not in position to bail them out. Those are the kinds of defensive mistakes that are the costliest.

Valentin Zykov with 2 goals as he makes his debut on the top line with Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen.

It was... very good.

Nice. Was sad when he was traded. Hope turns out to be a good player.

He looked real good last night. Kind of an old school "park your huge butt in front of the net and just hammer away" style game.

Am I a bad person for being happy when Muzzin left the game early? Is it wrong to find it satisfying that the team didn't allow any goals with him out? Is the Pope Protestant?

Well, 5 points in 4 NHL games this year so far is... pretty good.
