It looked like tee times were being discussed last night .... 3 & 23 being in the lineup and together no less is fireable for RC ... and his postgame rationale was even worse ... there is no reason that Marcus should not be playing every game w/ KB stick in the presser & I’ll live with Beauch... and it would be nice if the 2nd and 3rd line would chip a goal in every blue moon ... for the 1st time this yr ... a must say I see Ducks missing the plyoffs esp if Calgary wins tonight ...
Ducks simply mailed it in last night... |

They looked so bad last night. Carlyle is not good....period. The team is sooooo slow. They need to get younger. I packed it in last night. If they somehow make it. Round 1 exit is in the future.
I will say Getz is still a absolute beast though. Been our best player for a decade and still is our best player and it isn't close. Hope to see his number in the rafters one day. |

Agree 100%! They've been so blah this year you can't figure them out. They don't go on any horrible losing streaks but they rarely go on any noticeable winning streaks. I've been saying for most of the second half of the season to fellow season ticket holders, IF the Ducks get in to the playoffs, who can they beat? Certainly not Nashville or Winnipeg. MAYBE Vegas if they choke (doubtful). They can get motivated playing San Jose and LA, but can they beat them? I'm not convinced. The Ducks are stuck in NHL purgatory, not good enough to do any damage in the playoffs, not bad enough to do any damage at the draft. |

Vancouver has been shut out their last two games, and now they play the Ducks tomorrow. No wonder I have a bad feeling about the game. The only thing I can almost guarantee is our penchant for playing down to the competition. |

Maybe its time to think about bringing Welinski or Megna back up.
Fowler-Montour
Lindholm-Pettersson
Manson-Welinski or Megna
Not sure if Larsson is ready. |

Like everyone else i've had enough of 3 and 23. Welinski has 2 assists and is a +1 in 4 games, Pettersson has a goal and is +3 in 10 games. Bieksa in 59 games has 8 assists and is -13, beauch has ok numbers but is slow and not what he used to be. Idk why RC hates rookies and young guys so much but we have talent in the press box and SD lets use it

The Ducks looked slow and uninterested during that game.
RC's lineup decisions continue to be baffling. Casual Kev and Beauch are so slow and inept and yet RC keeps running them out there. It was obvious at the game they were overmatched and yet, there they go over the boards again.
Couple that with the fact the team is playing with only 3 lines because Kelly and Chimera are not actual NHL players any longer. Yet RC continues to run them out there too.
Its so odd because RC puts those guys in the lineup and then its like a lightbulb goes off and he realized during the game he cant really play any of them so he ends up shortening the bench. Nothing like handcuffing the team from the outset.
I would rather play 2 other rookies with Grant on the 4th line than see old man Kelly and Chimera out there.
RC has been nothing but a detriment to this team. Hazy made some comments about how RC is trying to get Kase to simplify his game. Well guess what RC? He has simplified it so much that his creativity is gone and he is ineffective.
RC needs to go and I think anyone who follows the team knew this day was coming the second Barstool Bob hired his drinking buddy as the coach again.
RC sure has changed and evolved as a coach right? |

Yeah. Carlyle is in a pickle. He needs more speed but if your gonna break up the Getzlaf, henrique, or kesler lines then he needs skilled players to compliment. The bottom line is that this team isn't built correctly. Not enough speed on the top 2 lines. And not enough skill in the bottom 2 lines.
But honestly I'm torn between going to the playoffs. My brain says no. That we should get a top 15 pick and let the players have a full off-season of rest. But my heart says go. If gibby gets hot and the team plays shut down defence then who knows.
But whatever happens I'm pretty sure a retool is coming. I don't think we can afford to wait another year. At that really bums me out. Because that could mean the end of our playoff status for years to come. I mean it will take a couple of years for the propects to mature. And in that time we could see a lot of changes. Who knows what the future holds. But hind sight being 50/50 I just wish we had been a little more aggresiveand a little more smarter. These last 5 years gave us a lot of opportunities. And we blew it. |
