Certainly an important game in the standings. A win tonight & the Preds would be in great shape down the stretch. They play a weird closing schedule - mixing it up with top teams like Toronto, Winnipeg & Tampa, but also having multiple games against Buffalo, and playing Arizona, Columbus and other teams at the bottom of the league (and several from the East). It wouldn't surprise me at all for them to post 115+ points on the season. That may not be enough to best the Lightning, but it's certainly a possibility. Home ice is such a huge factor - especially when you have 4 or 5 teams that are so close in points, goaltending, scoring, etc.
As for the Jets, it's hard not to like the way they are built. Laine has been everything he was supposed to be, and really more because it's come so early. Shutting his line down is going to be job #1 tonight. As this team gets healthier, they are going to be more and more dangerous. This could very easily be a WCF preview if things go like they have been.
Should be a great game!

I agree with everything else you said, but there is essentially zero chance that Nashville & Winnipeg could face each other in the Western Conference Final, unless one of the two drops all the way to a wildcard spot. If they meet in the playoffs, it will be in the 2nd round. |

You are correct. I forgot they don't re-seed anymore. |

As a Jets fan I would be mildly surprised to see a competitive game tonight with Winnipeg finishing up this 6 game trip, playing on the 2nd half of the back to back and Scheifele Trouba Lowry Kulikov and possibly Enstrom and Hendricks out but here's hoping! Jets just gotta get home and get healthy in preparation of one of Minnesota Dallas or Colorado in round 1 |

Couldn't get a ticket to the NJ tilt so went to the Pink Floyd laser show. That was great, the NJ letdown was not. I guess it's just another brick in the wall.
I'm thinking another letdown tonight. The Preds have been flirting with disaster for much of this 11 game streak, they got away with it until NJ. The Jets are an entirely different animal...altogether. (Airplane!)
Saying that, I still think the Preds will pull out the division, they just won't get the stranglehold tonight. I would love to be wrong, but it's just a gut feeling I have.
It should be a great game though. |

I don't expect much of a fight tonight from Jets, missing 6 regulars is pretty tough for any team to overcome. Glad it's not a playoff game |
