He's still shaking from the treasure trove turning into a 2nd and a garbage pail prospect.

Well, it looks like the Sharks are missing the playoffs because Garp said:

"Kane has never played in a Stanley Cup playoff game. That will change in April."

And Garp is always wrong. The two point cushion SJ has on a playoff spot doesn't instill a lot of confidence either way, but when Gurfy says something, it's a safe bet that the opposite will be true.

I am thrilled he got traded to San Jose. It greatly benefits the Canucks that he has some playoff experience ---- which he would never-ever get in Buffalo --- before he joins the Canucks in a few months.

For all the chatter about GM Jason Botterill looking for a first-round pick, a prospect, a roster player and a conditional pick for Kane, he got a second-rounder that might become a first, a middling prospect and a fourth-rounder in 2019 or a third-round selection in 2020. He told the Buffalo News that he received one legitimate offer for Kane at the deadline. Which is either an indication that other teams viewed Kane as toxic or that the Sabres held on to this asset way too long and the market shifted at the deadline. Either way, given the prices for other rentals at the deadline, this was indefensible. (And good luck trying shake off that "player-as-GM" finger-pointing at Jack Eichel when the only player they acquired was his college linemate.) The Sabres needed to do so much more than this, and they didn't.

Garth/ your misunderstanding of asset value and the misjudgement of the market for your home team fav players just gets proven over and over and over and over.

One would think you’d start to figure that out and reassess everything you thought u knew. That and try being more objective about the sabres.

Wow, sounds like the Sharks REALLY like Kane. If he is that good, maybe he should have got a little more for the Sabres in return.

Plus having 2 apples (is that what you guys call assists ), in his first run, definately sounds like a 1st round pick should have been delivered. Looking forward to seeing how he goes actually, I wonder which team mate he is going to fight with first?
