I understand not mortgaging your future, but what new hockey fans need to know is you don't get opportunities at the cup very often. I'm from Buffalo, and the Sabres have bottomed out, got a stud player and are still not very good. Lots of teams barely ever have a legit shot at a deep cup run.

This Vegas team is legit. I would like to see them give up whatever assets they need to acquire Erik Karlsson. They could easily absorb Bobby Ryan's contract to lower the cost of business. I actually think Ryan could be the kind of player that could help them in the playoffs too. He had a good run with the Sens last year.

I can't tell if provenzano is a genious, or a really good car salesman. Any thoughts?

As far as karlsson it would depend on if th knights think this level of play is a standard now, or if they expect substantial regression going forward. I would assume they expect minor regression but this is more than a trend. In that case, absorb bobby Ryan's deal and get EK on the cheap

It's a fair argument, but GMGM seems more cautious. His argument, of wanting to build long-term contender through Draft, is certainly valid too.

I imagine they're doing their due diligence. But I question how big a thing it is. We'll see.
