Isn't Vegas picking up 2 mil of Brassards contract too? Not 1 million by the Sens |

VGK got a 4th round pick for cap space they weren't going to commit to a player. I would be singing their praises, they are doing the opposite of Ottawa. Spending cash for assets. |

Brassard will help the pens offense for sure but a defense with hunwick/ matta is below average at best plus no depth on d losing Cole. Not to many 8-7 games in the playoffs! |

I hope Kessel gets the Conn Smythe this year... |

I love the weak Pens D narrative.....
Last year....
Dumoulin-Hainsey
Schultz-Maatta
Daley-Cole
Rhuwedel
This year....
Letang-Dumoulin
Schultz-Maatta
Oleksiak-Hunwick
Rhuwedel
Definitely a better d core this year than the one that WON THE CUP last year.....
But if saying the Pens are weaker this year makes you feel better have at it haha |

There is always a weird Pens narrative. Three years ago everybody said the Pens farm system was completely depleted, yet they have had very meaningful contributions from call ups every year since. |

I've been hearing this for two years and guess what, both those seasons ended with cups. Of course the D is not the strength of this team, but Maatta is still solid mid-paring dman and Oleksiak is doing fine with Cole's role on the bottom pair. Letang is also there unlike the last playoff run. |

Agree. And with the younger or newer guys on the team..they'll step up once the playoffs begin and. .the dressing room guys will teach them invaluable lessons. .on what it takes |

I live near Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.... I'm no hockey personnel expert but you could see Murray, Jarry, Sheary, Rust, and Guentzel coming from a mile away..... they were never sexy prospects but they are all big game players...... they cannot be intimidated and it's showed the last 3 years |

Yeah mean like how Ron Hainsey was the top pairing dman last year when they won the cup? |

All of you guys spent time talking about the Sens and Shi!!sburgh in this deal, but I wanted to know what in GOD’s name was McPhee thinking? He could have used the cap space to add to his team going into the playoffs. What is in it for ‘vegas? The guys they are adding do nothing for their team. Just don’t understand it, unless Jim Rutherford has pics of McPhee w a transsexual hooker or something! Sheesh!! |

Take your pick in the Silly Sunday saucy situation solutions;
A) Didn't want Brassard on the Jets, make it harder through the playoffs
B) Picked up another draft pick free of charge as the cap space wasn't being used
C) Picked up a depth forward free of charge
D) Youre Not really trying that hard to understand it
E) All of the above |
