WTF did it take so long to put Tkachuk & Hamilton on the PP???? That pi$$ poor PP cost us games & I think we could have had at least 8-10 more points had this stubborn freaking coach moved some of his best young players up sooner.

Oh geez, Bennett looks like a top 10 pick when you play him with top players.
No disrespect to Janko, I think he's going to be good & take over centring the 2nd line in the next 2 years if not sooner, but he's raw & learning the NHL game. Bennett has gotten the short end of line mates for most of his tenure. To trade him when his value is at it's lowest would pi$$ me off to no end. I would like to see Ferland, when he
s healthy again moved to the RW with Tkachuk & Backlund. Move Frolik down with Janko for the remaining 20 games.

Kevin R you are right about Bennet he needs to play with other skilled players not anchors that completely change the way he has to play the game. The Flames would be stupid to trade him.

Absolutely, trading Bennett (who looks almost as retarded as Hamilton does in a cowboy hat).would be a yuge mistake!! He is the type of player that needs to play with top 6 players!! No disrespect to words ferland, but Bennett who is almost as physical of a player as he is but has more skill.and is better at digging the puck out down low then ferland is. Janko,Hathaway ,ferland has the potential of a hard ruff and tumble line to play agents!! I agree 100% why does it take so long for gg to change things up very frustrating!! If Hartley was still coaching he Would have change things up ten times throughout the game. He was a little extreme at times never really gave guys a chance to get chemistry. But gg fuk he keeps things the same for half a season before he starts changing things. DOing so might cost the flames a season and his job!

You're totally right about the coach, so many people on here that still give him the benefit of the doubt. I'm trying really hard not to bash him, have bite my tongue soooo many times, nothing will happen this year, but I'd be super pissed if we started next year with him in charge. Been saying since last year that he needs to put Bennett in a position where he can succeed. Last year he was a force in the playoffs. Last night and the few glimpses of Johnny or Tkachuk on his line has proved this. Now Dougie not getting any top pp time that's another story, GG continual use of Brodie hoping to rekindle some old magic when it's not working is frustrating to say the least. We have a coach that can't adjust, see beyond what has worked in the past, no imagination what so ever. Last night I probably wasn't the only one that was suprized to see Sam moved up, was a good call, not sure why it takes so long. You posted previously that GG probably isn't a bad coach, just not the coach that's going to take them anywhere in the playoffs, I agree totally with this.
I'm hopeful that the team will make the playoffs despite some of the bonehead decisions this staff continually makes.

I like this whole post Kev!!

GG can be glacier slow in making changes which is maddening, but he always eventually gets there to his credit.

As for Bennett, I have to laugh because all day before the game I was thinking swap Ferland and Bennett to get each back on their game. I'm going to use telekanisis more often on coach GG!

And your right Kev, Bennett has been playing with third liners most of his career so far. I think he should be twice as good as Ferland but in the same mould. Man I hope he sticks on that top line or I'll have to have a stern talk with GG lol.

As for moving Frolik down, I wouldn't do that yet. His low point count does not reflect his play, he's just been a little snake bitten this season, his corsi numbers are still pretty good.

Let's stay positive Flames fans. We have to. We have no chance at a wildcard spot by the looks of things.

So let's dig in and do this.

Bennett did look good on the top line but it was 1 game , lets see what happens against better competition coming up. Now that Bennett is on the top line, the 3rd line looks awful and when we play Colorado and Dallas next week they will get exposed big time. Time to drop Hathaway where he belongs in the minors and try out someone with more skill there. Foo has been on a tear as of late, could him or even skink be an option worth trying?

Maybe try Mange again with Janko.

Looking at the list of potential players to be traded. Skinner or galchenyuk two guys they should be looking at. Obviously for the right price maybe the cans are looking for a good young goalie!!

Your wrong Hathaway plays a roll and does it well. Foo is a down grade from Hathaway. Skink?

Hathaway is a dime a dozen, you have lomberg, brouwer, stajan, lazar and now Ferly all playing the same roll. chasing the puck and laying the body a few times a game is a waste of a third line spot. Look around the NHL now, teams that are doing well have a skilled 3rd line.

Would be better to see ferly-janko-someone like pageau who has skill and can grind.

Then your 4th line could be brouwer-lazar-hath.

Hey buddy. Don't give up on GG yet. Yes he is Glacier(!) slow in making certain changes, but he does eventually get there to his credit.

He's a young coach, but he is committed and dedicated to learning the game. Not to mention some of our players are maddeningly inconsistent at times which has nothing to do with the coaching systems. Which brings us to the locker room.

Gio is a good level headed captain, and we need that, but rip the fukking "A" off of Brouwer's jersey already and give it to Tkachuk already. We need that heat in the locker room.

Are you listening GG?! Get this done. Like yesterday.

I could see brouwer getting swiped of the A in the offseason and given to Tkachuk(after he signs his 8 year deal hopefully)

I hope your not thinking about trading Gillies yet buddy lol. Way way to early in his career to consider that. He's had 2(!) NHL starts. He's just warming up.

Yup. Your probably right in your thinking the proper time to do that is in the off season, which is the respectful and professional way of doing that.

Butt (frank) that, at this point and where we are in the season, we don't have that luxury.

Do it now. Make the locker room see we are not (frank)ing around with complacency. Give the young man what he deserves. He's a driver for this team.

I agree, Hathaway strikes me as a fourth line energy guy. Calgary really doesn't have much NHL calibre depth so he makes it to the 3rd line here. Bennett on the other hand should not have to play with 4th liners.

Our teams not poor.

Trade Brouwer and retain half his salary for a young NHL 3rd forward pairing piece. Fuk the money. Help the team. The playoffs are on the line, which is worth way more than Brouwer.

I'll check soon to see what his contract status is. But I go to work in a half an hour, so any help is appreciated.

Brouwers played better as of late. Only problem is his contract or nobody would mind. Also GG 's pp usage has pissed many off! Otherwise a good 4th liner as long as he doesn't take face offs in overtime in our zone!

There are zero teams that will trade a young NHL 3rd liner for Brouwer. The Flames won't be getting a useful player for Brouwer unless that player has an even worse contract.
