On behalf of a grateful Leafs Nation, I want you to thank you for your hard work, and for your compassion in breaking that story to us gently.

For a lot of us, Eric Fehr was more than a seldom-used 4th liner/AHL reject who we lent to San Diego.

He was a mentor to the kids who he no longer played with.

I never thought that my heart would get over the departure of Frankie Corrado. Perhaps I even felt some animosity towards Fehr - even though I know he wasn't responsible for the trade.

But Fehr made me forget all about Corrado. He made me believe in the Leafs again.

I get it - it's a business. MLSEL had to move on.

But I will never forget the Eric Fehr era. A fantastic 5 games, spread over 2 seasons, where this Leafs fan allowed himself to dream a little dream about a Stanley Cup.
