Funny thing , I actually though of this last night, everywhere Torts tried to insert him into the lineup it has been a mess. Not saying he's bad captain, be him and some other vets have been the detriment of this team. |

Yes - he had that career year in '14-15, and they re-upped him based on that, but he's really a 40-ish pt/yr player. Great person.
This should enable Torts & mgmt to "showcase" players before the deadline. Depending on what's available to them in trade, bring Milano down, bring Carlsson down (I know he's D) , but they could be pieces in trade for an impact player. Not the what's on most of the "available" trade lists.
Don't give up anything for the rental players. I read trade rumors on another website that said the CBJ have (had) interest in Derrick Brassard, and that Ottawa is asking for a 1st, prospect, + maybe another asset. DON'T DO IT. That ship has sailed. He has 1 more year @ $5MM; he'll turn 31 right before next season; he's not the impact player the Jackets need.
A couple of players that I might consider are Ryan O'Reilly (if Buffalo retains some salary); or Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. My out-of-left field trade target would be Alexander Barkov from Florida. |

An ideal trade for me would be JJ for Bozak , it's not as if that defense is thriving with him...

I'll throw another name out there - Tyler Johnson (TBL). He's a small winger, ala Calvert & Atkinson, but is usually in the right place. However, he's on contract for $5MM per, through '23-24, so maybe not such a good idea. |

birdie03...Exact 3 centers i was thinking about. One them would be a great add for the Jackets. |

Personally, I really like Barkov - he's dynamic, can drive the play; he's young - 22 yr old (23 in Sept); has ideal size, 6'3"; and he's signed for $5.9MM through '21-22. Plus he's from Finland - so there's a Jarmo connection.
I'd offer: 2019 1st rd; Milano; Carlsson or Nutivarra. Maybe add a prospect - not Abramov. |

Forgot to add - this deal could be a summer deal.
Also - Tyler Johnson turns 28 in July and is signed through '23-24. Kinda makes that one look not as good ! |
