I was at this game. Very frustrating game and I was completely annoyed when I heard Lundqvist getting mock cheers at the end. Get a grip, the play in front of him has been atrocious. They're lucky (unluckly?) that they're not dead last in points this season. I wonder if they'll win more than a few more games the remainder of this season.

I don't know if you can buy much into the young defensive core's stats right now. At this point with 4 AHL defenders out of 6 I think you are just happy to see that they aren't in over their heads on a play by play basis. If they are in the game, the rest (Positioning, leverage, scheme) can be taught.

Not much mention of AV's continued jerking of Miller. At this point it seems like the hate is palpable. AV is screwing him with his linemates and Miller is screwing him right back with not giving 100%. One will be gone next year, hopefully Miller gets the chance to play under a coach that sees his skills and puts him on a line with players so he can succeed instead of setting him up for failure by putting him with Codey (frank)ing McLeod and Peter Holland

I'm wondering if Gorton will surprise the fans with a trade that no one has talked about . Most of his trades have come as a bit of a surprise besides the E Staal trade . Maybe just maybe he will do something that will catch everyone off guard .

The -17 stat for Deangelo certainly isn't good but it doesn't seem like he's been that bad defensively. I noticed today he was defending 3 two on ones when Holden got caught. Can't remember if 2 of those went in or it was only the 1.

A coach needs to maximize the strengths of a team & mold the system to fit the personnel. Let me know when that happens, because we sure haven’t seen that at all. I like AV, but it sure appears his shelf life here is done. If not by his own doing, then by the play on the ice.

I always appreciate your take Jan but you saved the best for last in this column. This more than anything has been my sentiments exactly for at least 2 seasons.

I don’t see any reason to keep AV around for the remainder of the season. The team and season are over and done. There’s obviously some issues with the coach and some players. And add Hanks stare down the bench after yesterday’s hook. Unfortunately we have to see some good guys go in trades this upcoming week and I just don’t see what good could come from keeping AV around past the deadline. If anything, it could be more detrimental to the progress of the future.

And please send Scott Arniel packing ASAP. I cannot stand that guy. Never have

When the smoke clears I hope we do have at least one more first rounder. And a top prospect. I think we will get our first deal tomorrow. These 3 days off. This is the time.
