looking at that Rangers D-core, you would think 2 points are right there for the taking. |

If they can scratch out a win today at MSG, I'm ready to start thinking I need to save money for playoff tickets. |

True, but for some reason, games at MSG are never easy. That being said, I have a good feeling about today's game. I'm predicting a Flyers win, 4-1 and a big game from Nolan Patrick.

After reading about the way too soon passing of former Flyer Greg Smyth, I remember him as a tough player, but I didn't realize who and how many people he fought. His dance card was like a "who's who" in NHL tough guys. RIP "Bird Dog". |

Right. I'll take a win any way we can get it. It's never easy for us vs the rangers and they've owned us the last few years. We always have trouble beating hank. Scratch out a win and hope jersey loses. |

Prob been discussed but i see isaac said that det was looking for a 3rd for mrazek and he wouldn't do it.
Not really a surprise to me. We've been winning for the most part, and even if we weren't, it'd be a log jam in goal once elliott came back. |

The games they "should" win always worry me the most.
No Queen Henry, a who's who of defense, and a second of a back to back should bode well for Philly. |

Whether hank plays or not flyers should win this game.with half an ahl lineup and missing 4 regulars the flyers should be able to come out with two points.the only thing that might hurt the flyers chances today and in the playoffs is goaltending flyers are cursed if this dude hart is anywhere near as good as you guys say he is you might be set up for awhile but talk is cheap |

Might be due to his reported attitude issues in the past. If those were overblown, he would've been my choice from the names Flyers have been linked to and that's a fair price. |

Here's the thing though. First off, 5-6 weeks is a long time and does anyone really want Lyon or Tokarski playing any games during that time? Second, core/abdominal surgeries can often linger longer than expected, 5-6 weeks could easily become 8-10 weeks and now you may be looking at Neuvirth and an unproven rookie or journeyman for the rest of the season.
I can understand Hetall not making a move today, but I still think you have to acquire a legit NHL goalie prior to the deadline. It's simply too big a risk to not do so.

Im hoping Hextall see's the goalie TDL as a buyers market & holding out for the best option/price. |

That's exactly what I'm thinking. Mrazek could be the guy and the Red Wings can't really afford to re-sign him due their cap issues. So, maybe he waits til deadline day and picks him up for a 4th instead of a 3rd. Or, perhaps Buffalo prices Lehner too high for the market and he picks up Chad Johnson even cheaper, say for a 6th.
Either way, I'd be shocked if the deadline passes and he doesn't pick up a goalie.

Im with BiggE and probably would have done this deal. Maybe they could have even dealt one of the goalies during the draft to get back that 3rd or a 4th.
Even if they couldn't deal a goalie, a 3rd round pick, which is a player you have a small chance of making the squad 3 or 4 years down the line may have been enough of a price to pay for some insurance.

As long as something is done at the deadline that isnt too outrageous.
The whole league knows Hexy is not dealing from the most advantageous position, so they will be trying to rake him over the coals.

Exactly. GM's know how bad Flyers need a goalie. I agree Hextall shouldn't and at least from the report hasn't taken the first offer thrown his way. But beggars can't be choosers. |

Hextall can make a move a little closer to the deadline and the asking price will come down. There aren't a lot of teams shopping for goalie rentals and there are quite a few guys available.
Just gotta hope Neuvirth doesn't get banged up between now and then. Otherwise Hextall is not going to have much leverage in a trade. |

It would help his bargaining position if Alex Lyon can throw in a competent start between now and 2/26. |
