Sheng Peng: Golden Knights in China?; Underwhelming 6-3 Win Over Habs I ask Bill Foley if he wants the Golden Knights to go to China + Ryan Carpenter stars in a "too loose" 6-3 Vegas victory over Montreal

I do believe they will end up in China for the exhibition games in the next 2-3 seasons.

Also, that game last night could have gone differently if Niemi and the Mtl defense weren’t that bad in the first 10 minutes. The Canadians forward group looked really good last night, especially in both the first and third periods.

Yeah, the Knights haven't really put together a great 60-minute game in a while. Maybe the Caps game was the last one.

I thought as I watched the game that Montreal was the better team for large stretches. Great breakdown. The Knights really need to up their level for these upcoming divisional games.

Thanks! Obviously, score effects become a factor, especially after VGK opened up a 5-2 lead, but yea, even in 1st period, it was scrambly.

I thought the first was pretty even, though way too open with some boneheaded plays. They dominated the 2nd and probably let up a bit in the 3rd.

As far as the team playing in China. It makes total sense, Vancouver has a huge Asian population which is why they've been picked and while Vegas is obviously nowhere near their number there seems to be a relationship between the city and China/Asia. From casinos and gambling to Chinese New Years being celebrated by said casinos such as MGM. Tons of people from the area love to come here and spent time. Maybe the relationship can be furthered cemented with sports/knights.

Yea, 1st period was equally sloppy. But I think a team of Vegas's caliber expects more from itself, as Smith alluded to.

And right on about China's connection with Vegas. Las Vegas is absolutely a name-brand city in China, part of the reason why I asked Foley about it. I wouldn't bother asking the same question of Carolina's new owner, for example, lol.
