Hi Bill. Any chance Leier replaces Weise today? I thought Weise was totally ineffective and generally uninspired against the Habs.

Certainly a chance but since there was no practice yesterday, the lines are listed as the same as the ones that started on Thursday. The morning skate will be more telling, and the lineup combos will be adjusted.

I agree that Weise was ineffective against Montreal. He'd been out of the lineup for quite awhile but he didn't do the kind of things he needed to -- be noticed for winning battles, getting under Habs' skin, etc. -- in order to stay in the lineup.

So it wouldn't surprise me if Leier is back in the lineup. I thought he played well since he finally got back in the lineup and was a bit surprised at the morning skate on Thursday when it became obvious he was a scratch and Weise was back in.

Thanks, pretty much how I saw it too.

I get that Weise brings much more size, but if you don’t use that size to your advantage, it becomes a non factor. Way too often since he came to Philly, Weise has just looked disinterested and been a non factor game in and game out. I’d much rather have the smaller, but much more motivated player in the lineup.

Anyhow, thanks for getting back to me and thanks for doing such a great job covering the Flyers for us!

Weise was given an opportunity by the coach to get back in the lineup and didn't do anything really to show that he deserved to stay in the lineup. Disappointing for a veteran player.

He just seems to play like a guy that just doesn’t give a damn. I just don’t get it.

This game is a MUST win. Especially with a tough test in Vegas tomorrow.

Good teams win these games. Hopefully they still have a bitter taste in their mouths from getting embarrassed by the Coyotes last time.

Hey BiggE how you doing in the keys? I chuckled the other day when you said you were sick, but still better then being in Philly cold. I was thinking the same thing, had a cold which rolled in to nausea and vomiting. Thought this is the flu.
Wrong answer. Had a blister on my foot which was now infected. Long story short, been in hospital since Wed night and they amputated my little toe and some other bone. Waiting for results of an MRI to see if they got it all. So all of you hockey buzzer, please keep me in your thoughts, I can use some good vibes.
Of course I missed the only (frank)ing Superbowl parade ever. I hope I recorded it.

Oh, let's go Flyers.

Bill I know you never go into trade speculation, rumors and all that fun garbage but what is your honest opinion on what the team should do this deadline, No specific names but should they be looking to add for a run, lord knows as a fan we never want to just say "its not our year" LA showed the ability to squeak in and win it all multiple times and this team is still loaded with potential, skill and honestly in my eyes an ideal mix of youth and "vets" Would love to see a pickup to help the PK out, only thing really killing them.

Unfortunately he has really not been the Player that Hextall signed for 4 years since he arrived. For all guys harp on Lehtera, you can’t fault his work ethic. With Weise, there’s a disconnect.

Holy poop....that sucks. I too missed the parade...thought about trying to make my way down, but just too much work. Watched it at work. Hopefully that’s the end of your issues and you put that poop behind you.
