Will this fan base allow Casey Nelson to be a top 4 Dman at some point in the future without scoring more than 25 points in a season?

Excellent write up as usual Pach.

On your point about Rhino, i think it's great that he is playing. Of course it is likely the "ECHL effect" coming into play but that's OK. Somebody has to play and produce with ECHL. Also, the worst case scenario regarding Rhino is that his recent good play and stats will increase his value for a solid young d-man. Nothing wrong with that.

Regarding Jack and the "C" - i hope they give it to him at the year-end presser or sooner. He has earned it.

His recent quality stretch of play began with that overpaid assclown waiver wire turd, ROR. He was promoted to play with Jack because of his quality play on the 2nd.

Reinhart is playing great and trying to prove he can be a 60 point player. I would hope Botts would be wary to trade him unless the deal was a no brainer for an even better defensive talent. Right now, I think he's heading to a 3.5M bridge.

There were a lot of salty with Islander fans last night. Next to me was a father and son Islander fans. The father didn't even take his coat off to expose his JT jersey until it was 3-3.

I got a kick out of a 10 year old yelling "Jack Eichel sucks!"

thx...I believe there was a lot going on both on and off the ice with reinhart earlier this season...have heard off-ice issues coming into play with him and on ice he comes off as a big baby, at least to me

Nice write up. Sabres in white is classic. I'd like the NHL to allow teams way more leeway on jerseys in general, if a team wants to. Instead of "white" and "dark" let teams do a blue one and a red one, plus a couple of special occasion jerseys.

If original 6 teams don't want to, that's cool, they can stick with 2-3 jerseys

I want red flames against blue sabres and St. Patrick green sabres vs purple Kings.

It's an easy way to inject some personality into the game.

The "home dark' jerseys became a thing when most teams started to have third or "alternate" jerseys, and the NHL wanted them to be shown off at home to increase sales. It's a purely financial move.

Which is odd timing imo, because television exposure hasn't been this high since ESPN. People see all the jerseys of everyone

I think they will switch back to white jerseys at home eventually.

I also believe the change was made at least in part to drum up sales for the away jersey, which became the home jersey. That's why I expect they'll change it back after awhile. The almighty dollar!

The Winter classic uniforms overall look amazing and traditional at the same time. Sabres also need to get rid of the outline around the logo. just makes it look like scrambled eggs from a distance. The original, un outlined logo pops much more/looks cleaner. They can get rid of the "NY" though, im pretty sure we all know where Buffalo is.

The Sabres need to go with the winter classic jerseys full time next year

Best jersey they have ever made besides the black ones

It's great to see Nelson play well. I don't want to elevate him from 12th on the depth chart to top 4. If he comes into camp as the favorite to be their 7th or 8th D, that's good for everyone. I believe he has to go through waivers next season, so I hope he sticks.

Phaneuf is a bottom pairing guy, with bottom pairing speed. the only thing separating him and bogosian is power play points
- Sabresfan-365

So?

"He's Bogo, but scores more."

Sounds like we could use that.

If we're stuck with the money I'd rather add a little bit on and actually get something out of it. Stick him on the 2nd PP and get an extra goal -- not necessarily from him directly -- every third game or so. Every goal counts with the Sabres.

But if you can find a way to get out of the money without having to buyout, you obviously do that.

Doesn't that just turn into White full time? Would they really want to do that?

Sure, why not have white home jerseys full time? The NHL would never be on board.

Really, I hate the goat head jersey's... I still like the old jersey's the best, the ones last night were 2nd best. the goat head and the slug head are the worst
