Would be cool for Jagr to sign on and play one more game for the Penguins then officially retire. Maybe next season or something.

Would love to see the Pens sign him so he can retire a Pen. No need to even play him......Of course he'd have to be ready to retire.

I would love it if the NHL did like a summer league for retired NHL players.

I'd only let him in if goalies were legally allowed to go Billy Smith.

Apparently Dion Phaneuf has enquired about it but said he would only play if he could take his shift after Avery's finished his.

Matt Gajtka just quit DK specifically saying he can no longer be associated with Djan and his company. Djan must be the absolute worst human being.

I’ve read another article someone posted on here reporting on how terrible he is.

If this is the end I salute you sir. You will always be a legend that people will talk about in hockey tales forever. I'm proud to say I got the opportunity to watch your magic on the ice. You are truly one of the greats. I hope this isnt the end but if so hold your head up high you touched so many fans, thanks for the memories. And I'll see you at the hall of fame ceremony very soon...

Yeah, he seems like a total tool. Still, I think he's one of the best sports writers in Pittsburgh and I'll reassess my commitment when my subscription comes up for renewal.

It's unfortunate to hear all of this stuff, but I've been involved in a few startups myself and I have to say, nothing surprises me from that story. Most small companies in the first couple of years are run totally by the seat of their pants. It's obvious DK is the wrong person to be interacting with his personnel and It sounds like he's changed the structure so he no longer has to handle management functions. He's going to need to fix his reputation to keep his company viable.

The only defection that truly hurt me was Yohe. He is top notch and I subscribed to the Athletic simply because of him. Mark Kaboly was replaced with a much better beat writer Dale Lolly for the Steelers.

The Katie Brown thing....I've got to be honest, I thought her work was totally canned. I rarely finished an article of hers. Sure she was mistreated to some degree, but I always thought she was a mistake hire. Frankly, I want to read grizzled writers who have real insight and sources within the team. Somebody that knows the history of the team. Katie Brown checked off zero boxes for the kind of writer I follow.

What DK's site does really well is interact with the subscribers. The athletic misses this point and I think will suffer for it. I think the Penguins content is lighter than I was expecting too.

Hard to believe that all these bloggers female dog about dangerous plays and headshots constantly and not one of them has mentioned the Brad Marchand fiasco at the all star game. The guy was basically strutting around all weekend like he’s untouchable. Another clear sign that hockey, true hockey is fading and someday the nhl will be just a skeleton of its former self. If it isn’t already. Congrats Jagr. You played to long and my favorite recent memory of you is Bortuzzo laying your old ass out, but I did love watching you as a kid.
