Any smart GM wouldn't want Kane even for free.

But if that's the price for Patches I'd like to see the Pens get him.

When Wpg traded Kaner, he opted for shoulder surgery at that time and did not play for Buffalo the rest of the year. I am sure that won't happen this time. He works hard every shift, gritty and fans will luv his energy in his new digs.

His contract ends after the 18-19 season and is due a raise from his modest 4.5 M. We aren’t a cup contender now and won’t be next year. It’s tough choice whether to resign a town favorite during his aging years or trade him before contract expires to further build for the near future.
