Stifles or Stifle? That "s" just doesn't read right for some reason.

Good blog.

I thought we started to look better in the 3rd period but we have got to stay out of the penalty box moving forward because we cant afford to be on the PK 6 times a game. I noticed an uptick in body checks during last nights game which i thought was interesting because its normally not the lightnings identity to play that way. Wondering if that is going to continue until the return of Hedman or if the team was just releasing some anger after losing 3 straight. Either way big win last night and hopefully we can pull out a miracle tonight against the Preds.

Disclaimer: Distractions prevented me from watching much of the first period so my comments are based off the 2nd and 3rd period.

Vasi's positioning last night was excellent. It was something that really stuck out to me from previous games. Before this game, I wouldn't have been able to pin point what, if anything, Vasi needed to improve on but seeing it last night made it clear to me that his positioning was his problem. Hopefully he continues to have consistency in that area moving forward.

Peca is fast and not afraid. 4 for 6 on draws was good also. Keep it up kid.

Gourde played great! I was so happy when he scored that goal as he deserved goal recognition for his hard work last night.

Has anyone seen Stamkos?

Lastly: STOP TAKING LAZY PENALTIES!!!

I'm glad they called up Peca...been waiting for this all year. He had a great camp at the beginning of the year, and thought he might stick with the club. Hopefully the kid impresses enough to stay for a while. Every now and then I buy the Crunch stream to see how these guys are playing, and Peca is always standing out. I can easily see him replacing Pacquette in the near future. I'm sorry if that irks Pacquette fans, but truly what does he bring us other than some big hits every now and then...JMO. Hopefully, we give the Preds hell tonight. Go Bolts!

I see Peca winning a spot this year and for next but he's a different type of player than Pacquette is so I don't see that as a replacement.

And seeing as Cooper is president of Pacquette's fan club, I don't see that replacement happening anytime soon.
