My favourite random facts right now:

-Tampa Bay is the worst faceoff team in the NHL. First place in the standings.

-Tampa Bay’s forward group features 9 forwards whom are 6’ or under.

-The two teams in the Cup Final last year also happened to be the smallest teams in the NHL.

Let’s remember these things when we talk about trading for “size” or “grit”, people.

And the Blackhawks and Kings were both top 5 teams for size and grit for their five cups so let's remember that when making points agaisnt it.

Interesting to how the commentators compared Ehlers to Bure yesterday. I would think a more accurate comparison would be Paul Kariya.

Valeri maybe but not Pavel. Pavel possessed a rare skill set. Most teams now employ systems that wouldn’t allow a player like a Pavel Bure to exist.

So another game for Roslovic playin with Dano and Hendricks....temper expectations.
When you call up top 6 talent and he plays with 4th line and press box talent it’s not much good to them.
Some positives being around obviously but don’t look for much.

Hendricks is out before Dano, at this point. Roslovic and Dano are dragging him to positive results, and it’s shwoing more with each game.

I'd add Chicago and Minny ( Go Vikings ! ) to that list of speedy teams. It hasn't got the Blackhawks very far though.

The Hawks are really in waist deep with the Seabrook and Toews contracts. Neither of them are worht the money now let alone many years down the road when they end. No cap room to rebuild the franchise . I'm sure Chevy is watching very carefully .

The obvious solution is to call up Petan, scratch Hendricks, and sick #Petano and Roslovic on 3rd and 4th lines.

Ridiculous. Dano will most definitely not get to play first so long as Hendricks is healthy.ONly a complete fool would believe that. Dano played just over 5 minutes last game ( and accomplished nothing except causing a train wreck behind the net) so I think that tells you whats going to happen in advance.

I think Henricks is highly overrated. It would serve him well to play part time. This is where Maurice’s wacky coaching decisions get questioned. Playing Roslovic on the 4th line and then asking him to play the power play? He’s had Dano on the power play as well.

Dano doesn’t play for a reason. Some speculate that Maurice doesn’t like him. Some think that he just is not very good. I am in the latter camp.

Dano was having a hard time last nite staying upright. He went down like a bowling pin three times on one shift with no one around him. He tries hard, skates kind of funny and falls down lots.

He doesn’t play because Maurice doesn’t like him. For how weird his skating is, he still hits hard, generates a ton of offence, and basically does everything old timey coaches love. In a results driven industry, he gets results. Those results are ignored because a bad coach doesn’t like his attitude.

I did forget to factor in the Maurice stupidity/Vet gets the nod thing.

Its always easy to say a coach is crappy or blame the coach. The most losing coach in history, the best coach never to win the big one, yada, yada. Its no different in any sport, whether its Manitoba Superleague softball for young women or in the NHL, it is the easiest thing to say the coach did not do it right, did not get it right, is crappy, didn't treat my kid or my favourite player right, yada, yada, yada.

Just like Phil Mickelson was the best pro golfer to not win a major. That's all the f-------g announcers could focus on for years........ until he won. How many Majors does he have now? 5 I think with 3 Masters. But, he was, for the longest time, the best pro golfer that never won the big one. With that, I hope Maurice can one day silence all the naysayers by ramming a cup down all his critics throats!
